At least we got to see Glibbert take a few snaps. Valentine was a real unicorn.

Where are you getting this information? Exactly where? Source and not someone’s grandmothers brother knows a hairdresser that posted something on a message board. Where?

You do realize there is more than just GPA requirements to maintain eligibility? An athlete also must show progress toward getting a degree. There are required number of hours passed in order to be eligible as well. I seriously doubt Gilbert has enough hours passed to play this coming season whether he gets his GPA up or not.

Who has even verified this 1.0 gpa? While in college my parents thought I had a 4.0.

LSU should have cut ties with him and been done it from the beginning. Trying to bring him back into the fold is a misstep. No player is bigger than LSU football.

By all accounts, he has a lot of class work to do before anything changes with his status. I wouldn't expect any answers before August time frame.

Why this board continues to fellate this head case is mind boggling.

There have been a number of suggestions that he has legitimate mental health issues.

If true, he deserves some patience and compassion.

If not then I agree we need to cut bait.

Gilbert likely has the opportunity to accumulate needed hours and GPA improvement through intersession, a full summer load, and independent study/online. With the academic support available I'm sure he can do it if he wants; just a matter if of following through.

Yeah I’m not feeling that. If he has mental health issues, college football is not the place to get sorted out.

BTW, LSU was a better team when he was not on the field. He quit in the middle of the season.

If he does the work to get back, more power to him. If not, let him go.

He is an incredible athlete no doubt. But I repeat. LSU was a better offensive unit without him.

the dude has amazing talent but he is kind of a quitter. Do we really need that on the team?

Every Arik Gilbert thread suffers from the same fundamental problem: Nobody knows anything. GPA, mental health problems or not, etc. Posts that are about 100% speculation are meaningless and a waste of time. I vote for no more Gilbert posts.

Thank you, Newport Tiger! I was about to post what is the source or link to Gilbert's alleged 1.0 GPA.

Of course, many posts on the Rant are highly speculative.

Because Gilbert was such a highly rated player, such posts will likely continue.

His definition of being soft is: he left the team I root for, and his priorities no no concern of mine at this point. I no longer have to pretend I give a shite about him because he left the P&G during the season

That’s the mindset that these morons have. They don’t know shite
