LSU didn't have to beat MSU last year AT THEIR HOUSE 45-0.

But he did.

Could've been "respectful" at 21-0 or something.
LMAO. Not to mention 49-0 with Kentucky, after 45-3 two weekends in a row vs. UL/ASU in '06; 56-3 N. Texas in '05; ..nah, he's "too classy" to do that.

He's having fun with his new high-octane SEC offense or maybe he didn't notice the score.

I know people have varying views on the Steve Spurrier staple. But there really isn't a thing called running up the score. Defenses have to stop the offense, coaches have to beat the opponent soundly in order to expect stats and reputation. A coach who would lay down at the end of the game gets little respect from me. You have to get it while you can, get the game experience while it's available.

In regular season he would run up the score. If it an important game he would run up the score. Apparently the more points you rack up and give up the better you look in the ranking and polls. So the first few times he paly again you bet he will try to run up the score.

However during the BCS he called off the dogs because, one. Georgia ran up the score and most media outlet was saying it was enough no need to beat on someone weaker then you.

So to avoid looking like pricks like Georgia, Les ease off of em. Point in case? Tyson Jackson was taking off along his hand tapes along with Dorsey and they were just basking.

I hope LSU runs up the score into the 60's.

but even if they did that, they would probably get ridiculed.

can't win situation really.

No. Even when we've had the opportunity to post scores way up in the 50s and 60s under Les, he's throttled back and held the score in check.

I expect LSU to score in the upper 30s to low 40s, and a lot of players will see action.

Look I love Les Miles too, but LSU fans seem to forget the blowout's throughout the last 3 years.

especially last years "classy" spanking of miss st. 45-0.

At their own place.

or the 40-3 drubbing of miami.

how about the 58-10 blowout of la tech?

the 56-0 beat down of north texas?

pretty "classy" wins

LET ER RIP!

well, when USC is hanging 50-60 on crap Pac-10 teams it seems like the pollsters like to take that into account, so why not air it out and make a statement?

I don't think that back-ups should be limited to handing off, especially this year when there is a vey real possibility that all 3 quaterbacks will be called on to make plays with their arms...

I used to think it was funny that handing off was all they did. Especially at the Capital One bowl when Matt Flynn came in right before the half to hand the ball off to Alley for a 40-yard touchdown. I told everyone that it was the best handoff I had ever seen and we should just bring him in whenever we needed to run the ball.

What is "running up the score" exactly??

Really, define it.

If you're up 30 points in the 3rd and the other team is blitzing.... Do you keep running your RB's into the line and get them killed?

REMEMBER: It's a game. A GAME.

Respect has nothing to do with it. You run your offense and it's up to the other team to stop you.. it's in the spirit of the GAME.

**It's bullshite if you do trick plays and your up.

After Oklahoma St was up 35-14 against Texas at the half and LOST 56-35, my guess is that you will never see Les take his foot off the gas again.

And the following week LSU only beat Appalachian St. 24-0 and I'm not saying it wasn't a great win, but not a blow out.

24-0 is absolutely a blow out, by definition.

3+ touchdowns, with a shutout is most def a "blowout" any kind of way you try to spin it.

it may be a sloppy performance, but if you put up a 24-0 score against any team, that's a blowout.

I do not consider a 50 point victory running up the score....as long as you are playing second and third string in the second half.....

large margins of victory are a must against non conference opponents...particularly with our weak non-conference schedule this year.....

We are ranked #6. I say we should be #1. Running up the score would improve our ranking.
