Certain home fields are worth more or less than 3. Teams such as LSU, Florida, Penn State, Michigan, etc...usually get a home field advantage of 4-6 points. So, if Florida is favored by 3 at home, then LSU would likely be favored by 1-3 at a neutral site.
Nobody has a 6 pt. homefield advantage in the books. Boise St. and Virginia Tech have the largest homefield advantage by bookmakers and that is around 4.5

Right now, barring any injuries Florida should open as a 6 pt. favorite. They are going to smoke Arkansas easy so the money may push it to 7.
7? yeah you're crazy.

LOL, People said I was crazy sunday night when I said that the Big-12 has 3 teams better than any in the SEC right now. Next day Las Vegas Sports Consultants release their poll, with 3 Big-12 teams rated higher than any in the SEC. Highest rated SEC team was Florida.

well maybe you're not crazy but i definitely disagree with UF -7. also with the big 12 comment.

coming from the guy who said USC's players are more "elite" than LSU's

I reckon that depends on which book you look at.

I didn't say you'd be a big dog, but you will be a dog. You'd be favored at home if that makes you feel beter.

Tebow would have to go down against Arky IMO...that's the only way

LSU should be favored imo but you never know.

Check
If Florida comes out of the game healthy, they should be favored by 5.
Include the Tebow factor (he's been waiting for us), the spread could be 10.
+1

the first week of this month the futures line had Florida favored by 9. It will be 4-5 by game time.

Nope. I think that most people think that Timmy and the Caymans, er, Gators are better. They will bet accordingly which will prompt the mob, er, Vegas to shift points to LSU to keep the money on each team about the same.
That said, it is not clear to me how good this team is. The O has shown some real promise because of the apparent development of JL. The D, to me, is enigmatic. Some comments about the D line and lack of pressure seem on point, but as I said previously, the other Lee proved elusive.
The secondary seems vulnerable more from lack of execution than being beaten physically. Maybe that is the good news. I know that UberMeyer will be busy devising a passing attack to exploit what he sees as deficiencies in pass coverage.

They were favored by 22.5 against Ole Miss.

The opening line will have Florida favored due to home field at the Swamp, it'll start to move once the bets start coming in.

I think we were favored by a point or two in 2006 the last time we came into the Swamp if I remember correctly. I was a little surprised by that.... on an aside, it was the most frustrating game I've been to as far as an LSU game... we literally gave that game away

no.
home field on average is worth 3 points, but the swamp prob gets 4 or 5. We would not be favored by more than 4 or 5 on a neutral field.
