Why do you keep on banking on the fact that we've had success in previous opening games. It's a new season. Move on.
I'm not "banking on" anything. I do think having players that have opened the season with a top 25, non con, neutral site game is an advantage.

Did you put asterisks next to the Northern Iowa score just to draw attention to the fact that they gave up 21?

Yea, that 21 they gave up to Fresno St in 2002 is a sure sign we are in trouble Saturday night.
Please, make it stop.

Everyone on this board is all about arguing. If you wanted to illustrate a point of Wisconsin not being ready, you should make a thread like,
"Wisconsin is more prepared than any other opening team..."
Everyone in this thread would counterpoint and you would effectively have the rant argue for you.
...Unless that IS what you did already. You sly bastard. I don't even know what I should argue anymore.

I believe Wisconsin will come with a "gotcha" type of gameplan, trying to somehow slow down the LSU defense and all of its terror with a "cloak and dagger" type of approach.....
They'll probably try to get the tight-ends involved to throw off the linebackers just a bit and will go with the "running" QB to keep the LSU pass rush from a full on downhill rushing attack......they will also go with the "running" QB b/c they know they don't have any real receiving threat against our secondary.......
all of which are admirable in their attempt, and may even produce a TD or 2, but Chavis will adjust accordingly and by halftime Wisconsin will be all out of tricks.
Melvin Gordon is an amazing back, but if Wisconsin thinks facing a really good running back is something new for LSU, they are seriously in trouble!!!!!
LSU 31 - Wisconsin 13

I think that these 2 items gives LSU the edge:
1) Our QB situation is not as bad as theirs
2) Our OL should be the best LSU has ever fielded
The DL is probably a push
Our 2 CBs should give us an edge in D backfield

We're replacing our entire defensive front 7, so that's advantage LSU. Our corners are a bit unproven so that's probably advantage LSU as well.
I havent seen your new QB, but would actually say that's one that is closer. Stave has the experience in the system and has played relatively well in big games (last year at OSU comes to mind), and Tanner has been taking reps for some time. Of course, it's all a crapshoot so we'll see.

None of these teams were ranked in the preseason top 25 and 8 of the 11 games were played in Camp Randall.
Not relevant. What is relevant is the humidity and heat in Houston. There is no way to replicate that environment in two days of practice in Texas.

But Coach Anderson says the team is a day ahead of schedule....

Yeah, super relevant...especially because the game will be played indoors.
