Yep, everyone said the same thing about Ben Johnson. Where is he now?

Not really. Ben Johnson was on the juice and was suspected of it long before he was caught. He also wasn't winning races in the dominating fashion that we saw last night.
Bolt looks clean (not juiced) and has the perfect name for $$$$$ endorsements world wide. Barring significant injury I think we're looking at the future of 100M and 200M sprinting for a long time. He makes the competition look slow.

WR>Gold because if you get the WR you will have the gold too
Not if you set the WR at track event other than the Olympics.

There was a message on cbssportsline.com that stated he runs for an international team and breaking the world record would get him another million dollars. Each time. He had to leave room for him to break his own world record.
Not that i agree with him pulling up, just a reason for it.
Trindon was saying WOW..

Would we even be having this conversation if he won the event in normal fasion with a time of even 9.60 and not been showboating when he crossed the line, probably not. The manner in which he did it was amazing. I am not a sprinter, but realistically, if he would have run through the finish line, do you think he would have only shaved off a few 100's of a sec? I think he would have had a time that was in the low 9's, not the 9.67 like they were talking about.

Yall do not like him because he was showboating? I'm sure yall love it when one of our Tigers does it.

quote:He has an advantage over the rest of the sprinters because of his shorter legs. They are easier to churn and he gets more steps per second than the rest of the competition.

No doubt that this guy may be the greatest sprinter of all times but I can't be impressed with a performance like that. He could have set a record that would have stood for ages if he would have simply had the self discipline to run full speed four more steps.
Yes, With the showboating, I bet he trained in America.

Remember Ben Johnson dusting Carl Lewis? I wonder if this dude has been tested yet????

The showboating wasn't that big an issue. Yes, he did let up a bit at the end, but it wasn't obscene showboating.
Even better was his reaction to winning his semifinal heat the day before. WOW. I think he ran a 9.9 and it looked like he jogged the last 50m.

What kind of an example did he set for athletes all over the world. I would be willing to bet that EVERY DAY at practice Les Miles and his coaches are screaming "run through the line" at the top of their lungs.
I know that in our culture today that guy will still get rich off of this but as for me I thought he looked like a piece of shite.

Maybe he'll go abroad after the games and perform circumcisions. That should help.
