Fair enough. My entire time at LSU (late 70s to early 80s) I never considered going to an LSU BB game. Program has really achieved mightily since then & hate to see it slide back to mediocrity.

Young coach on the come up, bring the fresh life this team has needed, especially when it comes to recruiting and hiring assistant coaches.

Tough crowd here tonight

No, not a tough crowd. It's just that this thread is dumb and overly predictable.

Just because Michigan got hot for 3 weeks doesn't mean you clean house here and just go run hire the guy.

South Carolina will hire the Michigan coach wayyyy before LSU would even have the chance. Y’all are wanting a coach that just “Came in 2nd”....... CPM was there 2 years ago also, and has actually won it all before.....

We need a gut check... we as a fan base need to understand that the scholarship limits have severely limited us. Maybe we are the dinosaur in the room.
The USC Trojans that won so many national championships are not a player on the National baseball scene anymore.
Under the current rules .. maybe we can’t compete
We are good but not great. We used to be top 5 but our teams are about 11-20 in todays college baseball world. The question is what are the answers... A bigger stadium and better... better facilities for baseball.. All of these would help.. or could it be that The Vanderbilt Commodores have worked the system that currently exists and won championships and we worked the system in the 90’s and we won championships. We are the dinosaur until the system changes. We need to work on the system because it is not fair to student athletes and its not fair to non paid assistant coaches...But , will everybody else improve under changes to the current system or will LSU fall further behind. A question to ponder

I like the guy from Texas Tech. I think if we can Mainieri, he definitely gets a look.

The USC Trojans aren’t a player on the national anything scene anymore, and scholarships aren’t even in the top 5 reasons for that

we still have scholarship advantages over 90% of schools out there. I love how this is the newfound rant narrative for people who don’t mind seeing LSU baseball lose 20+ games every year

No it wouldn’t. One trick pony with his “diverse” baseball team

That dude rode two arms to the championship and pitched them on 4 days consistently.

That’s how you ruin your kids career.

I'm willing to bet most here didn't know his name until after the game ended last night.

“Well, we just think our roster should look like the United States of America,” Bakich said. “We target a lot of inner city kids. There’s a lot of great athletes out there and think it’s ridiculous the cost of travel ball and some of the showcases. It negates opportunities for a lot of kids. For us, we want to have a diverse roster and want to provide as many opportunities for kids all over the country that we can.”

He acts like he’s running for office with his diversity push. Not as strange as Tom Herman kissing his players, but not enough to make me think he is a good long term fit for LSU.
