I understand what yall are saying, but same people said we would never beat bama again, yet we did. They also said we would never win the sec again with out sabans players, yet we did.
Les and all coaches have their shortcomings, but i think hes earned the respect. But the haters can keep hating and they can crawl back in their hole when we win the sec again.

Narrative always beats fact on The Rant.
Don't fight it.

Find quotes where Les said this, cus he hasnt.
He has also said certain players would be special, TM7, brockers, claiborne, reid, sheppard, ridley, the list goes on. hes not going to dog his own players.
I dont think people are basing their optimism on what Les has to say about cam, they are basing it off cam and the players.

the same guy who was fired from his NFL job? The same guy who then came down to the NCAA ranks due to a negative reputation in the NFL? sweet!

the players.
The same players who were to blame in previous seasons when the team screwed up based on Miles' coaching?

You will not "win" on The Rant.
20% people post solely from hope and bravado, 20% people post solely from fear and self-loathing and the rest of us just suffer through it.

HAve youve been even paying attention, listened to cam's interviews on things he wants to do? The guy knows what hes doing.
Im not annointing him all world, but if you dont see this as a step up from our previous coordinators then idk what to tell you.
Plenty of good coaches get fired in the nfl, and even in college. Championship winning coaches get fired. You really have no point.

NEWS FLASH: Most coaches at this level sound like they know what they're doing. Execution is another whole different animal.
Until the execution happens...it's all speculation. Actions trump words.

it's only a step up if the product is better. The fact you think it is a step up before he has done anything measurable is sad.

I agree coaches get fired. Which begs the question...that after how many seasons of sub-par performing offenses does Miles get before he should be booted?
quote:
You really have no point.
The point is he isn;t anything UNTIL he has done something. So far, the season has not even started.

A guy like Cameron is just what LSU needed. Especially this year to try and help Mett get on, and stay on, the right track. He's coached some great QB's and been the architect behind some prolific NFL offenses.

you are ready to anoint him without proof, shame on you.
quote:
In 2004, San Diego scored 446 points, third-highest in the NFL that year and the third-most in team history. Following the 2004 campaign, Sports Illustrated named Cameron its Offensive Assistant of the Year.
In 2005, the Chargers averaged 26.1 points per game - good for fifth in the NFL in that category.
In 2006, the Chargers offense amassed a team-record 494 points while paving the way for league MVP LaDainian Tomlinson to break the single-season touchdown record.
quote:
In his 11 seasons as an NFL head coach or offensive coordinator, Cameron’s offenses led the NFL in points once, finished among the top five on three occasions (1st, 3rd, and 5th), and finished in the top half of the NFL nine times. The two occasions his offenses weren’t among the top half of the league in points were his first season in San Diego and his only season in Miami.
quote:
The 2006 Chargers offense directed by Cameron is one of only 28 teams in NFL history to average 30-or-more points per contest. It is the 21st highest-scoring offense in NFL history, and 14th-highest over the last 25 years.
quote:
After only his fourth season, Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco became the Ravens’ all-time leading passer in yards (13,816), TD passes (80), and completions (1,190) and was second in completion percentage (60.8). Flacco’s 44 regular season wins in his first four seasons were the most ever by a starting quarterback in his first four years in the NFL. Flacco is the only starting quarterback in NFL history (since the 1970 merger) to reach the playoffs in each of his first four seasons.
quote:If that ain't "world class" what is?
In 2011, the Ravens played eleven regular season games against teams that finished among the top 10 defenses in the NFL in points allowed. The Ravens averaged 23 points per game in those 11 games. In his 11 seasons as an NFL head coach and offensive coordinator, Cameron has been part of teams that were plus-49 in takeaway/giveaway ratio.
I get the fact that he works for Miles now so his stature must take a tremendous hit, but his past does still exist.
I guess if Sean Payton became the LSU OC he would be a chump too to some folks.

a world class LSU OC would have our offense humming.
Once again, let's not anoint him based on 2004-2006...let's see what he puts on the field.

I heard she is transferring in and is super-hot but imho, It would be prudent to wait until we see her before we crown her Homecoming Queen.

BTW - just forget for a moment that Les hired him, that's clouding your view. Cam has been one of the most productive OCs in the NFL for 11 years now. The simple fact is that qualifies as 'world class'.

let me phrase it another way....
ASSUMPTION:
1) Cam is world class
HYPOTHETICAL:
1) LSU's offense is still atrocious
RESULT:
1) If Cam is world class, then Miles is to blame.
2) It means that Cam is NOT world class
so the reality is that if you want to trumpet this mantra before the season has begun, you get to choose from either #1 or #2 from the results. It has to be either/or
