Just fyi, I'm not crying about a loss or the program is on the apocalypse, blah blah. So frick off.

I'm referring to the people who don't mind seeing LSU go with 5+ loss seasons. My question is, why?

players are a big part of keeping us at the top tier, our fans/rantards have no faith our coaches, players, etc. Our own fans(grown men in fact) walk up to players in their free time when they're with their girlfriends to give them shite about there performance the past week, they boo the shite out of them after one pass,

that kind passion to win/shite doesn't help us win anything

You can't honestly tell me you have had have more fun at a LSU game when LSU is losing as opposed to winning?

Fixed it...

I have had a great time at a loss and a crappy time at a win, if that's what you're getting at.

If LSU goes in against an equal (or better) foe, puts up an awesome fight, but loses in a nailbiter ... I walk away with my head high.

If LSU looks like crap against anybody, but wins ... it can be disappointing.

I love winning. I love LSU to win. I love big time games like the SECCG and the NCG. Ultimately, I want LSU to be a perenniel top 10 team - one that is strong, feared, and respected. They don't have to win the SECW every year, but should be in the hunt deep into the season.

The 2009 Tigers have been Jekyll and Hyde for me this year. They've made me proud and frustrated at times all season.

I personally don't disagree with anything in that post, but I guess I may be missing the point a little.

What do you propose at this point?

A slow decay?

A quick collapse?
Starting from the bottom again? Maybe a Miami-like pseudo-resurgence.

I pulled for Boston to finally win the WS, now they're the Evil Empire II.

I'll go to Wrigley if the Cubs ever get another legitimate chance to exorcise their demons, and then they'll just go back to being the enemy of the Astros.

What do you see as your cycle of fandom? Are you even old enough to truly say you invested anything more than your time in this program, especially when it was down.

I'm a lifer, myself, but I have two kids, a growing business, and plenty of other obligations that I don't let interfere with following LSU football. I doubt I can speak for all of those that support the program, but I'm guessing it took a little bit of sacrifice outside of painting their face and yelling out loud for four hours to build this program to its present state.

These people might feel vested, so to speak. It's probably time for some of you guys to grab that torch and make it happen. Come on, internet generation, keep us or get us to the promised land. Lead the way.

There's a line somewhere.

A line that separates the tards from the not tards.

You are above the line.

Isn't that the reason you watch football?

Sure, you want your team to win, but I think the bottom line of having a hobby like watching football is the rush of adrenaline and the roller coaster of emotions that go along with it. It's like a drug.

thank God one of them is willing to admit he is just a young guy who hasn't gone through very many ups and downs with the program.

We all want LSU to win every game and go to BCS Championship games. None of us want to see our Tigers lose.

Anyone who has kept up with college football for an extended period knows no one stays on the very top forever. We are still one of the best, most relavant programs in college football.

It is not necessary to come to a public forum and tell everyone your expert opinion about why Les sucks when the team has an 8-2 record. Especially with Les' current track record.

If the program is in decline, Les is the reason and he is replaced, no one here really cares whether you were right about calling for this 10 games into the season. In other words you do not get to say I told you so and have a soul care so STFU, please!

I'm not that type fan, so I don't know what you're talking about.

I just see people on here always talking about, "you're not a true fan to question LSU going with a 5+ loss season. Why can't you just enjoy the games, we had to deal with it 20 years ago, blah blah". "

We're not doing that right now, I'm just asking to those fans, why? Why would they settle for 5+ loss seasons? I never said stop supporting the team or the program, just why settle for mediocrity like that? Is it that expected?

I think the point here is that some LSU fans are acting like spoiled little brats. We can't win a championship every year. We have lost to the #1 and #2 teams in the nation. If you would have told me would be 8-2 at this point in the season I would have taken that in a heartbeat, as would most sane Tiger fans. If you are one of those that finds it unacceptable then I guess you are one of the spoiled brats mentioned above.

Dude, you are one of the tards.

Being ranked in the top 10-15 is not in anyway mediocrity. Mediocrity would be a national "ranking" in the 50's-70's. If you can't tell, mediocrity means average. I don't get how people like you don't realize that you won't win the NC every single year.

When Florida St. had their run in the 90's, they won two NC's, and didn't finish out of the top 10 for thirteen years...were those other eleven years "mediocre" to someone like you?

No, you're a dumb arse for writing off the team after two hard fought losses and an ugly game against LA Tech. You're a dumb arse for trying to paint the picture that LSU football, as a program, is in danger of falling off the face of the map. Face it, LSU is one of the top 5 programs in the country and will stay that way because of Miles' recruiting and his decision making. I know someone like you could never be convinced that he is a good "gameday" coach, even though he brought a NC to this school. But he has already proven that he puts winning before personal loyalty, evidenced by the firing of Malveto. The man has committed to this school in the face of blatant hatred from a faction of the fanbase and has succeeded in spite of it. He has been marred by Saban comparisons from the time he first stepped foot on campus, and he succeeded in spite of it. He didn't buckle under the pressure of taking over a top program, he took the torch and sprinted off with it. And now, because of one subpar season in 2008, and an arguably "average" (if you can even say that) season in 2009, people are ready to run him out of town. And the predicament of the past two years can almost certainly be attributed to the decision Miles made to dismiss Perrilloux, which set our QB situation back significantly. But you know what, he proved his integrity and dedication to the program by making that decision, and I for one applaud him for it. But that still isn't an excuse. I expect this team to win out and win the bowl game and come back next year right in the hunt for an SEC and a National Title, because you know what? Miles allows LSU fans that luxury.

/Rant.

Do I really need to dig the posts up?

Their has been many on here referencing the bad days of LSU's program and how we're spoiled to expect a 10 win season. Basically, implying if LSU loses its ok because they'll still be having fun. Why the hell would anyone settle for that? I'm not saying stop supporting the program...but why would anyone be happy with that? I can't be the only one who has seen it...
