AKBA and other stocks under $3

I have some AKBA. When I bought in a couple of months ago, Fidelity had restrictions on stock under $3. I assume that maybe other brokers have similar restrictions.
AKBA is pushing 3 bucks now, so will crossing that threshold be a boost to the price in itself? Lifting the restrictions?

I had no issues getting AKBA in my Fidelity ROTH IRA at a substantially lower price than today.

I just rolled my brokerage account over to Fidelity from Schwab and AKBA was the first stock I bought that was under $3 - I think I got it at $1.73. When I went to buy, they had me call a number and make the order over the phone. I had to confirm that I was aware of the risks of penny stocks and that I did, indeed, want to purchase the stock.
It was a one time thing, I believe, because I bought more a little later on and didn't have to go through that routine, again.
