I make asymmetrical bets. My bet on MSTR has nothing to do with MSTR.

My original bet was Bitcoin would go from retail to institutional. It did.

Now my bet is adoption by Fortune 500 companies and governments.

I have 700 shares of MSTR that is worth about $250,000 right now.

I think it is a big gamble to be honest. We are going up forever or this thing ends at zero.

Let me know when to sell. I view this as a 5 year holding, maybe less

I have been trying to figure out the best way to put into words the current strategy at "Microstrategy", but finally someone does a much better job.

If you are holding a lot of stock, I suggest watching this video. You may disagree with his analysis, but always a good idea to look at both sides.

I think it clearly shows even if you are big on BTC, perhaps holding MSTR is not the best way to get exposure. Because it could quickly death spiral

Little too technical for me, but my gut says the music stops soon.

I will probably be looking to exit the trade in the next few weeks. I made 1,000% return as of today so I'll be happy to take 50%-75% off the table and stick it somewhere a little more boring and predictable.

I’m just leary about what it means when he can buy 50k and the market doesn’t flinch. It makes me think that kind of action is premature. Like he’s playing a game that hasn’t started yet. I have the same feelings about the US actively buying it. Bitcoin is still too young IMO. It puts a lot of pressure on the price to run quickly or it could damage the asset.

I took my profits when I sold half of the MSTR $45 calls. The rest will be ridden on the ~13 month runway I have

Mind if I ask, adoption of what exactly? Others picking up billions in BTC like MSTR, driving it up or some other kind of approach? Just wondering if there are other type of things that can be done by these companies.

Ie...is what DJT might end up doing with BAAKT considered an "adoption" type play? Though i don't know enough about the BTC industry to know what BAAKT does, so don't know why DJT is looking to buy them.

I would bet a decent sum of money you’ll be able to buy MSTR below $100 again, I just don’t know when.

Not sure on the nominal amount but a NAV at 1 makes sense. I mean it was trading at a 1 NAV this year.

That said, if the market thinks MSTR will figure out a way to leverage BTC for a yield then the NAV could go higher.

It’s a big gamble. Who fricking knows. But it’s interesting to think about.

The ship has sailed on “if”. They’re doing it now and at an alarming rate.

Historical BTC volatility and MSTR’s price action around it.
