We are pumping AGAIN.
I really can't figure out how to value MSTR. My gut tells me we are overvalued here but going to hold based on Quant Bros analysis

Well duh. Neither would 50% in gold, BTC, or even cash make sense.

I’m not going to try to trade it. Just hold on for the ups and downs. If the thesis is correct, will be filthy rich in few years

I admittedly don't understand the convertible bond dynamics well enough to run scenarios under different price assumptions but I don't think it's as simple as saying "what's an appropriate NAV multiple based on x amount of compounding bitcoin growth per share". I think the rate of the price growth of bitcoin determines how quickly the btc/share can compound which leads to an outperformance of the underlying asset. I shouldn't throw out guesses but my gut says that the value of MSTR's compounding bitcoin outperforms spot Bitcoin most when the spot price is steadily appreciating without overly dramatic price action.
The other element that is overlooked is that there is value in holding a massive chunk of bitcoin that rises above the total spot value of all of the bitcoin itself.

So uh guys. Are we going to talk about what just happened?
Saylor his hitting the smash buy for $42,000,000,000. That is billion with a B.
One thing I am certain of. MSTR is going to 20x from here or they are going bankrupt.

CNBC is still talking about whether fixed income should be 30% or 40% of the optimal portfolio.
Everyone is asleep at the wheel.

Holy hell
I'm hoping the market pukes on this insane devaluation tomorrow so I can scoop up some more shares for the long term

I’m with ya. I will gladly smash buy some discounted mstr. That earnings call today was a masterclass. Laid it all out there. Number 1 in every category and people still sleeping. I love that saylor is only ramping up from here. Just mstr alone will be buying 30-40m dollars a day in btc next year not to mention blackrock and fidelity. Btc gonna fly and mstr will fly higher

So is MSTR as a company just bitcoin holders or do they actually provide a service?

This is not easy to answer. Right now, they are stacking bitcoin and of course they are a tech company but their valuation is entirely driven by BTC at this point.
However, MSTR is planning to monetize this balance sheet to throw off a yield. How he plans to do this, I am not sure.
This is why it is very hard to value this company.
If you think Bitcoin is trading at $200,000 or more in the next 5 years (which I do), then MSTR is going to 10x-20x from here in the next 5-10 years.
If BTC fails, this will be one of the fastest falls in history.

His customer and service right now is providing traditional finance a way to purchase btc in whatever method they want. He can leverage it up or tone it down. If you’re a fixed income bond trader he can give you the bond with some btc upside and lower the downside risk. His bonds outperform everything in the market right now, so they are lining up at his door. Everything they do is with the shareholders in mind. If it’s accretive to the shareholder and can add value he’ll make the deal

Or is it too dangerous to buy on a Friday downswing?

I received control of my account this afternoon and placed a buy order at ~$227.50.
Roughly 20% of this account.
Might as well be transparent after busting in with my post the other night

I got around 1k worth of shares at 240 and another 1k at 230. I’ll buy on the way down if it keeps wanting to fall. I’ll offload some leverage when it goes back to towards 270 range

How long does it take before we consider Bitcoin will not fail? It is around $70k after 15 years. Absent Satoshi dumping her/his/their Bitcoin, what is the risk to it failing?
I saw MSTR fall to $241 yesterday, which is about 10% from ATH. That is usually a buying opportunity for me in any stock that I value, so I was going to add to the position. By the time I could buy it was already up to $249. Added more at $233 and $227. At this moment I am DCAing, but anything lower than where we are currently is a buy for me.

I'm already at this point.
The ETFs were the biggest thing to happen to BTC as far as it being around forever.
In my opinion there is one hurdle we need to get over before it is a true global monetary system accepted by all.
USA Banks must not only custody BTC, but allow it to be use as collateral.
This is the final domino to fall before collectively we can say it is here forever. I could see this being done in a Trump administration but if the lady is elected we will be waiting a while.
