I've never understood the fascination with Beats... They are the Bose of headphones
Agree. For half the money you can get twice the quality headphones. And from a company not associated with someone who has been convicted of beating a woman.

If more people realized how simple, similar and yet totally different Songza was, they'd snatch it up.
I have been using Songza basically since its inception. I recently started using Spotify and I have to say it is far superior. It does everything Songza does and has more customization (I can go pick any song I want and play it at that moment...not just a playlist).

Let's not get crazy here...there headphones aren't that terrible. Yes, marketing and image is a huge reason for Beats success...but that doesn't change the fact that there is a huge audience of consumers that love both the product and the image that comes with it.

read an article last year that had their revenue around $500-600 million but posting an $80 million net loss. The entire market for streaming music is puzzling to me. Too much competition, and I believe spotify is basically free if you use it on your PC? I don't use it, but tried it months ago and could listen to anything on my laptop. Only revenue-generating component I could find was the mobile site, but why would I pay for that shite when I can illegally download music or use something like Youtube's playlists? Does Spotify at least generate substantial ad revenue? I'm sure Pandora makes a killing there.
I don't get the $4billion value tag at all.
I'm a big Spotify supporter, and I've never heard anything bad about it. It is superior to any music streaming service out there IMO. I pay the $10/mo, which is well worth being able to sync your phone and computer playlists and download any and all songs for usage without internet.
You say why use it when you can illegally download songs? Because Spotify is easier to use for most people and having an unlimited library of music synched between your phone and computer is well worth $10 IMO, as most people who download music want it for use on the go, not just at home. Most people I know who have it pay the $10/mo fee.
