Been following this thread for the last few weeks. I studied acct/finance in college, so I'm relatively comfortable with options & simple investing. Applying at Schwab to be able to utilize options, and I'll be monitoring this thread and hoping to catch crude/gas near its trough.
Curious about how far UGAZ dips

It's not done dropping, wish I would have held out a few more days. Oh well, I bought in at the 52 week low at the time so I am confident it will bounce back by next month.

I'm getting my approval for options trading.
Doesn't it seem risky/up to chance that there will be an "arctic blast" this year? Couldn't it be a relatively warm winter, or warm for long enough that when the cold weather finally comes, it bumps the gas price up, but not much higher than where it is now?
I feel like everyone is betting on the weather..the stocks may be predictable, as long as the weather is

Anyone know if UGAZ/DGAZ posts their roll dates like UNG?

I am terrible at buying the bottom

I think UGAZ and DGAZ are notes and don't own anything except maybe swaps.

That's UNG's roll. I don't think UGAZ and DGAZ have anything to roll. I've gone through their prospectus, but it's been a while ago. They're notes that track an index.

So do you just have a bad arse computer setup in your home and trade your own money all day?
Posted on 12/4/14 at 12:24 pm to Iowa Golfer
I was wrong. They own the forward contract which comprise the exact holdings of the index they attempt to track X3. Anyway, when they roll I have no idea, but if you wanted to know approximately, you'd just ball park off of NYMEX calendar. i.e Jan contract is 12/29 and option on it are 12/26.

Why not just "bet on the weather" directly?
