Therefore stonks go down big.
Yes rate cuts were priced in and likelihood of rate cuts is being reduced therefore market is reducing how much is priced in. But crazy that the market can react so strongly in a negative direction to positive news

I agree with you. I don't get it.
I am kinda new to the market and still have much to learn, but I am starting to believe banks and institutions use things like jobs reports and the like to manipulate the market. /tinfoil cap

Stocks led by AI have been straight up for weeks. It's time for a pullback and some consolidation.
This is not a big selloff at all.

The AI trade pulls back every few weeks and subsequently the market pulls back.
The traders also talk about seasonality with the Jewish holiday and how it's usually a slight pull back. Take that fwiw.

Stocks go up, stocks go down, and literally no one knows why. It's why you never time the market.

2023 saw the S&P +24.2%
2024: +23.3%
2025 ytd: +12.5%
Those are HUGE returns, relatively speaking of course. We are beyond due for a healthy pullback (for seemingly no reason, as you pointed out)

I’m convinced that about 5 people dictate what the market does. I can’t see how any real life indicators affect it on regular basis.
