I’m going to be doing a giveaway on social media m for my business soon to make a big push for the seasonal business I run.

I’ve seen the most shares and audience reach has been done through giveaways and I thought I’d give it a go this year.

1. What would you guys recommend?
2. Would it be unprofessional to do a nice used golf cart? Or a lightly used generator?
3. LSU tickets, yeti ice chest, etc?

Depends on the business. What works for one category may not fit another. Unless the golf cart is fairly new, and pimped out LSU colors or something, it'll give off second tier, garage sale vibes, IMHO.

Your budget will dictate what you can offer. Giving away a few of whatever service or item you are selling will create interest in that specific product.

Who is your target audience? If men, gun giveaways always get a lot of attention.

If you have a Christmas Lights installation business, giving a couple all-inclusive installations would be reasonable.

Yeti ice chest and 60" Tv are good options. Pretty much every family is interested in those 2 options.

Not tons of people have use for a golf cart or have the ability to store it.

I would not do anything used. You will have bad things said about you.

It is almost a catch 22 because I am targeting a higher in audience, but I do not want to spend a lot of money on a higher end product for the giveaway.

However, yeti’s and things along those lines are “higher end” but aren’t terribly expensive

I know you probably don't want to go into much detail but whats the value of the product you are selling or service you provide?

You mention going towards "higher end audience". Are you selling 20k+ services\items?

Most "high end" individuals don't care about product giveaways. In my mind product giveaways are really just used to get more people to like\share your social media pages in hopes an actual future customer sees it.

So in a sense you need to give away a product a large majority of people want, not necessarily what a large majority of rich people want.

Usually 1500-2000 high end Christmas light jobs. For some reason I just don’t feel like it would get a lot of shares and audience reach. Probably should go for that though!

If your service is Christmas light jobs I would raise your fee 10-20%.

Then start a giveaway/share campaign of 2-3 free installation jobs..

Then mention in the giveaway competition that those who do not win but liked/shared will be offered 20% off if they decide to go through with the job themselves and can show they liked/shared the post.

LSU tickets

Some places make you get permission.

SEC championship game tickets for instance.

“ SEC Purchase Policy - SEC Ticket Office
A Ticket may not be used for advertising, promotion (including contests, sweepstakes or auctions), or other trade or commercial purposes without the express”
