Ok i was informed of a meeting at plain dealing high school gym on saturday at 6:pm with reps from chesapeak and petrohawk! Can anyone else confirm this? Pittboss, tiger is this true? I was also informed of a larger land lease deal up in that area in the vacinity of 15,000acre/25% has anyone heard of this?

There is a meeting at PD High School on Saturday. I doubt reps from CHK or HK will be there. CHK told us flat out they wouldn't give 100/acre for that area. I think there is a group that is looking for acreage that might pay more than they should. They told landowners at the first informal meeting that they don't know anything about the Haynesville sand. They obviously haven't done their homework, but take their money anyway!

Yeah I know what you are talking about, and I assume this must have been what this Flop was talking about. This group sounds like they don't have a clue what's going on and are going to waste money on bad leases if they do intend on doing any leasing.

The only thing that will end up producing up there in the Hayensville is the Haynesville sand. It's no secret that the Haynesville up there is a limey sand. Crystal drilled a lot of these wells in the 1980's.

But wasn't all of the Crystal wells vertical? and or would horizantal drilling afect the productivity?

Well hell yeah. Used to listen to his radio show. KLSU was great back then. Don't think the record store building is still there, that whole area has changed a lot. Just really isn't the same without the Bayou.
i've lost my Colourbox cds thru the years, someday i gonna make it a point to replace them.

If it is a sand formation, it makes no differnce if it is vertical or horizontal. Going horizontal won't help you find shale.
