Thanks for the response. I do know there are trucks in the area but unfortunately I do not know who or what, I live in Atlanta GA. That is what is making this so difficult. My information has been directly from the Seismic company and really all I know there is that they are prepared to shoot our area any day now. I am trying to find out the elevation of the area and/or the information that was determined years ago from an oil company that did a 2D shoot. Any ideas on how to get that info?

I can understand a rumor also but, I was there and know who we spoke to as well. My problem is knowing how to find them after all of these years. My information is not hear say it is first hand information. There were lawyers involved, court proceedings etc. This was not someone who showed up on the property and said you have gas here. IT was not that simple. Thanks for your info on rumors flying though I will take that into consideration when reading these post.

I assume that your question is how to find out which field your land is in. The Office Of Conservation is the agency that governs oil and gas exploration. Can't say for sure without knowing section, township, range but your land is most likely in the Arkana field.

I need help. This is the most knowledgable board I have read. We have a purchase option on acreagage
near Grand Cane. I have run title and have found out that all wells in the section were plugged by 1995; however I am still unsure about getting the minerals as it could be unitized. Does anyone know someone I could pay to make sure minerals are available before we buy?? Seller says they don't think they have minerals and are willing to transfer whatever rights they have.thanks

I've heard through the grapevine that you're the big brain on TigerDog.. I've got 2 acres in South Shreveport, my neighbors have all leased for chump change. You think it's safe to hold out and collect my 100% royalty when this sucker pays off?

Lorilemaris, e-mail me at treypittman@hotmail.com. I know a company leasing in 14-23-13. Of course it's not in the Haynesville shale so the prices are normal.

More chatter on the Messenger well -- heard that they are getting ready to build fresh water ponds at the well site. Assume this would be for use in the frac process.

It was presented as a good thing. My guess is that it indicates they're planning on starting the frac process, which requires alot of water.

That is pretty standard for these large scale frac jobs. This shale takes large volumes of water to frac. It will be interesting to see if the Messenger well is a good completion. The Cotton Valley looked to be low porosity when the first Messenger well was drilled in the 1980's. Nobody was looking for the shale back then. Encana might have seen some mud log shows in the shale in the original well making them choose to offset this well. I haven't been on that location so I couldn't be sure about any specifics there. As to the pipeline being tied in to the new line in Red River Parish, maybe that is going to be the closest sales line to the well. Until Encana completes the well and releases some kind of results we really won't be able to know.
