Does anyone know anyting about KCS drilling? I know that they have several smaller wells in Desoto. My son signed with them a year or so ago, but I have not heard their name mentioned. I think they are from Bossier.

Thanks Dog,I have one more question. My son's not under production now. He has two more years on his lease with KCS. I forsee this play taking years to complete, I don't know alot about wells though. When his lease is up and if there has been no drilling in his section, do you suppose that the big bonus will be gone or if this play works, what happens to the leases that aren't produced yet? I hope I made my question clear

On a related note..I have an existing gas pipeline crossing my property now (Magnolia Pipeline Co) and in 2007 I was paid a little cash for them come onto my property to install a new 12" pipeline to replace the existing one. If/when HS gas is drilled for in my area (signed a 4k lease in June) would they utilize or tap into this existing pipeline or install a new one? Seems it would make sense to use the existing infrastructure. Would this have any impact whatsoever on my revenue? I'm not getting paid anything recurring at the moment to have this running across my land.
Thanks
Thanks

I just read on another site that Encana has pulled out of Natchitoches Parish, any truth to that and does anyone know why?

What other site. Would be unusual given Messenger well not completed. Be more specific. This "I heard" stuff is terrible for people seeking FACTS.

Today in the Shreveport Times it was stated that it may take several years to get all available land under lease. Leases that expire with no production can be leased again. Using the Barnett Shale as an example, it would probably be at very high premium. Those that leased last leased for the most $$$$. For a sample lease ck out (Google).
Burleson Hold Out community association. Gas-lease.org for a ck list. Also remember that drilling rigs need water. If you have a large pond you can make a lot of money selling the water to them.

Your on a message board. If you take anything said here as fact then you need to have your head examined. Most everything here is rumor, secondhand info and pure speculation.

Anyone had people calling them to ask if you want to sell your land?
We had this woman call and give some sob story about how she needed our land for pastures and I played along. She never once mentioned anything about natural gas or anything else. It was pretty funny..are there people out there who are seriously trying to get people to sell them their land for next-to-nothing?
Money attracts sharks don't it?

I read it on Haynesville shale site but, I went back just now to get the exact location so you all could see it and it has been removed. I found it strange also and that is why I asked if anyone on this site had heard of it.

I have had two people who called and wanted to lease our land for three years to hunt on it. It too was funny especially when I told him that I could not do so because of the HS. Then he began to spill it and asking questions about what I had heard for the area.

Correct me if I'm wrong but generally hunting leases do not include mineral rights.
Posted on 7/21/08 at 9:02 pm to msesh
Your O&G lease will not prevent you from leasing the surface to hunters.

According to our attorney in Louisiana if we had leased the land for hunting then we could not safely allow someone to enter the property thus tying it up.

It is a liability issue. I do not want to be sued if a hunter shoots an O& G person or seismic person by accident.

You can't lease for oil and gas if you have a hunting lease on the land? That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. You need a new attorney. He's got legalese disease. Too full of himself as a lawyer. Just ridiculous. Sorry, I had to chime in.

Yeah, I was being sarcastic. I think he should have leased the land to the hunters with a condition that they 'accidentally' shoot the lawyer.
