Can anyone give a good concise explanation as what to do with my funds I have in coinbase? It’s just a small amount of money to play with but I’m interested in trading “alts”. I could not figure out GDAX but binance seems somewhat useable to someone without much knowledge of trading. Do I just transfer my eretheum to binance and use that to buy alts? Any help or links to posts of this nature would be great.
Also, I travel in my area for work and am not at my computer consistently, am I going to be at a disadvantage? The binance app is giving me trouble on my iPhone so I’ll be using safari mostly.

The OP has instructions for moving coins from Coinbase to Binance.
I prefer the full Binance site for trading, as I've had issues with the buy/sell buttons going the same way no matter what. I like the binance app for tracking current prices, though.

I see people talking about being in at .05 etc but prices on binance show .00003 then have a price next to it. Is the .05 the USD amount and the .00003 the crypto price?

depends what you are trading against. But the 0.00000000 number is either btc or eth

Yes, the main price basis is in bitcoin. You will see people talk about how many "sats" they bought in at as well, which is short for satoshis. One satoshi is .00000001 bitcoin.
It takes some getting used to, because even using the USD price is tricky. You can buy in to something at .05 USD (5 cents) which at the time may equate to 350 sats. But the next day, 350 sats may be worth 7 cents due to the increase in bitcoin price.
I try to focus on sats when buying and selling. In an extreme example, you could buy in at 5 cents/350 sats. A week later, BTC goes down to half its value at the time you bought. If your alt didn't change, you'd still be at 5 cents, but it would also be 700 sats. If you're using BTC as a store, in theory you actually doubled your investment. If you sell at 700 sats and BTC goes back to the original price and you get out, you ultimately made 10 cents per coin of the alt sell.

Thank y’all for the info. Money is transferred to Binance, so from there I can just buy, correct? What do y’all recommend? It’s only like $200 if that matters, again this is mainly just for fun. Also, are there different alts on binance verse other trading websites?

i mean all you have to do is go to the website and see that you can't register.
it was open last night for a few hours then closed again so just keep an eye out.

Carson I don’t see those on binance. Where do you buy them?
Posted on 1/10/18 at 2:46 pm to CAD703X
I guess I should elaborate
I more meant do you really think it's temporary, as it says, or should I go ahead and find an alternative
thanks for the answer, I'll keep an eye out

What exchanges?
I just signed up on livecoin to get DIME
Where is voice, dragon, Music?
I'm getting on coinhouse.eu when I leave work for ECA. Site is blocked up here.

If you go to coinmarketcap.com, you can search for almost any coin. Click “markets,” and it will show you a list of exchanges a coin can be bought on.
Keep in mind, the more obscure the coin (ie low trade volume, smaller market cap), the more likely that it will only be listed on smaller (ie sketckier and not as safe) exchanges.

DIME?
Is it just the next ECA around here, because I never felt really good about all that.

probably so. Although the exchange website seems more legit than coinsmarkets

Has anyone used TRX via MyEtherWallet (MEW)? I got some in but it is slow AF getting out. Is that just network clutter slowing me down?
