Out of State Private Car Purchase

Wondering if any MB experts have advice on the process of buying a car from a state outside of La. and bringing it to Louisiana? Documents to file? Notary, etc.?

From a dealer? They will often collect the LA sales tax from you, then take care of the paperwork with LA OMV. Texas dealers are plenty used to LA people buying cars.
If you buy from an individual, you'll need to make sure they sign over the title and/or sign a bill of sale in compliance with their state's laws on vehicle transfer. Then you'll have to go to LA OMV to pay sales tax, registration fee, etc.

In 2009 I bought a Mustang from a dealership in OR (great deal!). They handled the taxes but I think I had to handle registration.
The moral of the story for the OP: check with the dealership as to what they pay and do not.
