But seriously, if you’re getting murdered on your portfolio as a whole since February, you should probably re-evaluate those holdings.
Don't know why you are getting downvoted, but what you said here is correct

tax free dividend since it’s an MLP

Otherwise known as tax deferred and the divestment period could get quite expensive.

Not expensive unless you sell an MLP. You can literally never pay taxes on the dividends if you die and leave it to your heirs...who also don’t pay taxes unless they sell. The dividend at 10% would literally double your invested money every 7 years.

I’m finding that since Feb., the companies that are actually making money are sinking while the ones that don’t actually turn a profit trended down then back up

I don’t think that’s how it works. You start paying taxes on the distributions the moment your cost basis gets to $0.

I’m sure we can find anecdotes that tell any story we want, but super high growth and the Nasdaq in general have taken a back seat to companies with more immediately available profits.

That could theoretically happen if your dividend eventually covered all of your invested capital but the fact you subtract depreciation from the return makes that unlikely for a very long time. Please bring me more of your questions.

You said you “literally” never pay taxes on the distributions. That’s clearly not the case if you’re a long term investor. Not sure what to tell you.

You seem like a fun guy at parties. That was a joke. You actually seem like a dick. Literally.

“Instead of paying taxes on distributions classified as a return of capital, these amounts are deducted from your cost basis. In other words, taxes on MLP distributions are deferred until you sell your units or the MLP is acquired.

If you hold your units long enough until your cost basis reaches zero, then future distributions are taxed as long-term capital gains. Some folks plan to hold their MLP units until death, when their heirs can inherit them tax free and step up the cost basis to the MLP's closing price on the day you died.”

So if you hold until death with deprecation you LITERALLY would pay no taxes for most people investing in middle age or older. Then your heirs get a step up and would LITERALLY pay no taxes if they sold then.

Not a bad day to be in small caps which have taken much punishment since Feb / March.

Nice little reversal today

Not the Huss I came here for.

I expected you to be reveling in the carnage and reminding us how they love their 11s. Instead, you're a lone voice of calm pointing out a bright spot in the market. Perhaps this is a sign and my cue to actually panic.

I never “revel in the carnage.”

Nothing I hate more than seeing people fleeced.
