Young for sure. I wouldn’t call him worse than Renfroe or Margot either.

Dude was a .231/.328/.410 guy last year in only 200 AB. He could have potential and I don't know if he is the defender Margot is but offensively he is about the same or worse

Josh Hader.

That's the list.

That’s a small sample. Add in his minor league numbers from last season and you’ll like what you see.

grisham is already a better hitter than Margot with more potential on the offensive side, but a worse defender

I'll never take minor league stats into my thinking because they hardly ever translate

How many good major leaguers have been bad in the minors

Along with how many excellent MILB have been good MLB? We've seen countless times MILB do not always translate and plenty of guys have put up fantastic stats in the minors and sucked in the majors.

A lot more than the answer to mine. If you’re trying to look at who will be good in the majors disregarding minor league performance is pretty idiotic

I'm also not using MILB stats to determine who will succeed in MLB since they've not been accurate. I never stated current MLB didn't have good MILB stats. However, having decent MILB stats does not equal success in MLB.

There is no perfect predictor of success at the next level of any sport. That’s why those who make the decisions on it at the highest levels get paid millions. Disregarding it entirely because it doesn’t translate perfectly is ignorant.

Minor league performance is a box you need to check if you’re going to be good at the next level

Looking at the age vs level is the easiest way. If a 20 year old is performing at AA vs a 26 year old at AAA etc. To just throw it out the window makes no sense to me and makes me think you don’t understand pro baseball

They get paid millions to do what I feel many others could do, their success rate seems like it sucks. Of course I didn't disregard all MILB stats I just said I don't trust them. Which I don't believe are a good judge of MLB success.

Nice edit and I believe I understand pro baseball just fine

As I said, I don't because they are not a proven indicator.... Plenty of successful MILB players have failed in MLB. But hey, continue

Not using MILB stats to anoint anyone nor do I believe they are are useful to determine who will be successful in the majors.

There are definitely a lot of good minor leaguers that weren’t good in the majors. There were not t good major leaguers who weren’t good in the minors.

Production in the minors is necessary to at least some extent. It’s not a guarantee of future success, but it’s needed to even get the chance.

In current talks, #MNTwins are working hard to satisfy #Dodgers and the Dodgers are working hard to satisfy #RedSox, sources say. Two separate deals are possible (for example, Graterol-plus for Maeda and Verdugo and others for Betts/Price). But all three teams involved in talks.

Not good, maybe. But there have definitely been plenty of major leaguers that have signifcantly out performed their minor league numbers. For example, guys that developed power at the major league level that didnt have big power numbers in the minors.

Left handed hitters that couldnt hit left handed pitching and developed that skill at the big league level.
