Curious, how does this thread of F1 experts feel about Alex Palou going to F1? How would he fare?
The only evidence we’re about to have is Herta and his F2 performance as a benchmark, but don’t really feel that’s fair considering he was constantly dominated among everyone else.

That ship sailed. He will be with Ganassi the rest of his career. And why leave running at the front to take a back marker in f1.

I’m addicted to F1 as much as anyone here (yes I have a problem), but the politics of F1 makes me really sad.

Colton Herta just crashed in practice

Right turn probably got him
Off the top of my head I can think of two race crashes Herta had while driving alone, one was a right turn, the other was a left turn. One year, he was in very good shape at Long Beach. On an in-lap for a pit stop, at the end of the back straight is a 90-degree right. He plowed right into the wall at the exit. He was probably trying to get the best in-lap he could because I think he was competing for the win. Also, the first or second year at Nashville (on the street course that went across the bridge), after a pit stop he had the fastest car on track and was doing qualy laps catching up to the leader. He was very impressive until he took a left turn and hit the wall on the exit.
This is just who he is. He is a fast driver who just doesn't have the consistency to stay on the edge for lap after lap like the very best drivers.
I just looked at his crash. It looks like he lost the rear end while trail braking on turn in. A slow spin to the inside, and unfortunate minor contact that ended his session. Apparently F2 only has one practice session, so that's pretty damaging.

What car will he be in?
Figure it would take him a couple of years to get up to speed then would maybe challenge for top of the second rung if given a top car.

OK, 15 minutes until the predictions are locked for the weekend.
You can fiddle with and re-save your list as many times as you'd like until they are locked.
A few people from last year still haven't saved a list yet, in particular 1999 and kengel2. But also Pitt Road and 225rumpshaker.

OK, the predictions are now locked!
You can see everyone's prediction list here: dg42.net/TDF1/race-prediction.php
A few of us smart ones have put our faith in Ferrari.
The crazy ones are the guys who did not put Aston Martin firmly in last place. I'm especially looking at VABuckeye. I'm guessing he has not been keeping up with the news.

I staggered the first 8 in order to play it safe and then after that, bucketed the teams. Its a crap shoot spreading my odds.

I did something similar with the midfield/backmarkers, except that I separated the Alpine and VCARB drivers. There is going to be clear separation between the teams, but it's a little muddy right now about the top four teams.

Sky feed easily accessible on Apple TV. Will switch between that and f1tv for practice.

Dude, you don't want to play this year?
FP1 hasn't started yet. I can temporarily unlock the lists so you can save a list. Let me know.

Watching the Sky feed.

I greatly appreciate that offer, but I think I’m just gonna watch this year.

I thought the choices on F1TV and Apple TV would be the same, but it looks like the Sky broadcast is not available on F1TV.

Scroll all the way to the right, past the drivers.

Sounds like you're referring to Apple TV. I found Sky after scrolling all the way to the right. I'm talking about F1TV, where the "International" feed has been empty.

Ah, sorry. Haven't gone back to f1tv app yet
