True but Deegan wrecked everything in sight

Maybe I’m in the minority but why are road courses in nascar so polarizing? Those are my favorite events. I watch a ton of road racing, but still prefer nascar to stay an oval-dominated series. Why do people look at 5-6 road courses as too many? Hell some say 2 is too many. I don’t understand that.
I will die on the hill that 6 is the right number.

I like that they’re going back to the oval at Charlotte because 1.5 mile tracks seem to be the one style of track that the next gen car is decent on.

I do too. Been wanting that to happen. I just don’t want to see the number of road races dwindle. I loathed the schedules growing up. Always liked the road races more.

I agree. I’d like to see them at some true road courses instead of the gimmick Chicago/San Diego thing. I wish they’d give Sebring a try and see how it goes. I’d love to see them at Laguna Seca , too, but I don’t know if the cars could handle the corkscrew.

The “decent” is manufactured due to making them like plate tracks.
People may not know about the HP increase this year. Its not really an engine increase all they did was increase the spacer to allow more power. Not sure if its in effect for Charlotte. I’d rather they kept it a road track since it has 2 races.

Eh. I don’t think street courses are gimmicks. They’re used all over the world. They’re relevant to the international audience. Plus I don’t know how many more purpose built road courses are getting built.
It’s a way to bring a track to an area that doesn’t have one. I think the lakefront airport would actually make a great race track.
I’d like both options. But I question whether Laguna Seca is wide enough. But trans am and imsa run there. So maybe?

Would love to see three or four road races all back to back in the summer time with Saturday - Sunday race formats.
Leave the ovals for spring and fall.

Looking like winter weather may very well cause the Busch Clash to be postponed.
I’m just sayin, it won’t be snowing in Daytona...

Still on, but my guess is its postponed. Last year not one rain postponement so this year is likely the weather payback

I’d like to see ‘em try to get the tires to fire off in 20 degree weather.
Borrow some tire warmers from IMSA since they can’t use them anymore.

NASCAR posted this on their YouTube channel today and it’s amazing. I miss the sound of the Gen 4 cars and this era of NASCAR.
