I’m not disputing that. What I mean by “you can’t let him beat you” is that you can’t give his arse wide open shots!
I agree. There's a good breakdown of the play breakdown on YouTube that I saw. Basically, the mistake was made when the defenseman (Werenski, I think), took a bad angle on the Puck as it went behind the net. He should have gone to the corner. When he didn't, Matthews abandoned McDavid, and the loose Puck in the corner went right to where Matthews had been.
Had d fulfilled his responsibility, Matthews had contain on McDavid, but fatigue and poor decision making kicked in.
An ounce of space, and the Snow Mexicans have our cup.

the loss sucked,, the tourny as a whole US was the best team
but Canada had a great team as well,,, it was a tremendous game,, not the ending we wanted
more people with eyes on hockey the better
looking forward to Ovi breaking the record and the playoffs

That's going to be a historic night and an emotional night. I'm pulling for him. I'm a Pens fan and used to hate Ovi but have really grown to respect him over the last 7-8 years. He's the greatest pure scorer the game has ever seen. Him and Sid are the two best of their generation
He's at 879. 15 behind Gretzky. he should break it towards the middle of next month.

Is that shared on here I grew up watching Gordie.. Mark and Marty playing for the WHL Aeros then the minor league version with the IHL Aeros even though I hated the sweaters,,,
But I spent time in DC interning and saw a few Caps games and that just became my NHL team it was fun to see him win the championship a while back and I'm rude to see Ovi achieve the greatness
Honestly the fact that I knew that I got to see Gordie Howl even at his age and learning how he was one of the greats just made me appreciate the game so much that I even joined a roller hockey league played a season I was the absolute worst but the other players were so supportive because they needed warm bodies and I was at least that
It's a really fun game once you understand the rules and the set plays and witness the absolute speed of the game when played by the best I will always be a hockey fan

It was Fox, not Werenski. Fox had a pretty bad tournament. Not sure who was more disappointing: him or Jack Hughes.
Crazy to think this now since Fox won the Norris only 4 years ago and is still just 27, but I don’t think you can count on him as part of “the core” group of U.S. defensemen anymore. I think McAvoy - Werenski - Quinn Hughes - Slavin (in some combination) are your top-4 for the foreseeable future (through 2028, possibly through 2030, although a couple might age out by then).
Fox can still be part of the next tier fighting for a roster spot / 3rd pairing minutes (along with guys like Hanifin, Faber, Sanderson, Luke Hughes, Pionk, etc.) but he’s no longer indispensable or a lock. Which is hard to imagine thinking 12 months ago.

This is the best 'All-Star' game experience you will find in North American sports right now and it's not close.

10-4. Thanks for the correction.
I haven't really watched hockey in several years.
This tourney reignited my love for the game.
