You also thought Bama would crush A&M, but they didn’t. Maybe we should rank based on what actually happens and not what everyone thinks. Just a thought

So did Vegas.

Allow me to let you in on a little secret.

Since 2009 Alabama has double the amount of national titles after dropping a game than they do undefeated seasons.

I guess they didn't deserve to be there, huh?

Clemson has a resume of beating good teams previously.

A team from 2018 has frick all to do with a team from 2021.

Wake would get slaughtered in the playoff.

We have no idea about that and A&M beating Bama shows that there isn't a single dominant team this year.

If you want to throw UGA into the dominant pile then we get to go back to using past performance where.... Cincy barely lost to UGA last year in a game they controlled for most of the 4 quarters.

If Cincy can hang whose to say Wake can't? It's not like UGA has a murderers row of a schedule this year. Auburn is really their only impressive win and they may end up having 4 losses by season's end.

If a team had a lot of potential based on recruiting rankings, was expected to win the national title, and had rash of injuries and opened the season 0-3, only to heal up and absolutely crush everyone in conference; and based on potential was placed over some one loss P5 teams and ended up winning the CFP, was their winning the title a justification for them making the playoffs? I’d argue no, the one loss team has a really legit gripe in that scenario.

Them winning the title may be evidence they were the best team, but being the best team doesn’t always overlap with being the most deserving.

Your scenario is why this playoff is a joke and only an invitational. It’s a joke and thanks to Kirby Hocutt it got worse

It has to be all FBS champions to be legit

Blows my mind how many people resist such a simple concept that would be the best thing possible for the longterm stability of the sport.

Because there’s blowouts or they’ve been operant conditioned to not understand
The stupid claim will rest guys etc. umm no teams don’t want to lose seeding

It works in EVERY level of football but this level is allegedly too hazardous or special that it is taboo

Top 10

Ohio has as many teams in the top 10 as does the entire SEC.
SEC is a joke built on ESPN hype.

2 Ohio Schools.

3 Big Ten Schools.

2 SEC Schools.

How they keep ranking tOSU over Oregon is confusing.

Why? Oregon has struggled to win almost every game they played this year other than this week.

yes they beat OSU but they have not been a good team all year
