I don't know about that.
Well if they dumped to huge salary players for prospects, their costs would go way down, even if it hurt attendance/mdse sales its very possible that overall profit goes up. Cut costs more that revenue declines = increase in profit.

But the Astros attendance currently being in the middle of the pack isn't bad considering they haven't been a legitimate playoff contending team in a couple of years.
I don't disagree and I don't think they are middle of the pack because of 2 players. Trading 1 or both might hurt some, but I doubt it'd cost them another 500K in attendance.

I would hope so, but more likely than not, he'd be someone most of the fans aren't familiar with. It would take him a while to have any kind of emotional ties with the fanbase like Berkman and Oswalt.
That's true, but not necessary to boost attendance, win 85-90 games, attendance would zoom.

but Berkman still might be the Astros' best hitter and Oswalt is the second best starting pitcher on thin staff.
I doubt whomever they'd get back in trades would make a big enough immediate impact to sustain their previous winning percentage.
Assuming last year was a bad year and not a decline, Berkman is at worst their 2nd best hitter. I don't think they should trade him (unless they got an unbelievable offer) in part for the attendance reasons discussed. Plus a good starter should be able to get more in trade value at the deadline. Keeping both is in essence just a wast cause this team ain't going no where and they need to rebuild the minors. Getting a top and a couple of lower prospects maybe for Oswalt would be a big help.

7.Castro(yes I think he will win it..or Pray at least)
As a Castro fantasy owner (deep league) I pray he doesn't skip AAA. A month or two in AAA will help him in the long run.
