The practice of identifying baseball players by number was started by the Yankees in 1929.
From a complete stop, a human is capable of outrunning a Formula One Racecar for about 30 feet!
At 120 miles per hour, a Formula One car generates so much downforce that it can drive upside down on the roof of a tunnel.

The first and last goals scored by Henrik Larsson at Celtic Park were against Celtic. The first was an own goal, the last was for Barcelona.

Brett Favre's first reception was to himself.

I watched that game live, truth. And I had Tatis on my rotisserie league.

Probably a little more known than Tatis, but Bill Mueller is the only player to hit a grand slam from both sides of the plate in one game.

Every baseball used in the majors and minors is rubbed down with Lena Blackburne Baseball Rubbing Mud from new jersey before game use and has been for nearly 75 years
found this really interesting and had to google it.
I watched a little CNN video on it and its surprising that one man "harvests" all this mud for EVERY baseball and he said he makes only about $20k a year from it.

Damn... They should put loops and and stuff in the courses to make those races more interesting.

I once posted that Favre's first (regular season) pass was for a touchdown...for other team (pick-6)

When he was a starting pitcher, Babe Ruth threw a no hitter, without throwing a strike.

Rich Garcias grew his own vegetables at Fenway park.

Explain... If someone swing and hits a ball in play is ruled a strike
ETA, as it relates to pitch count

He walked the first guy on four pitches then punched the home plate umpire because he disagreed with the strike zone.
Ernie Shore came in, the runner was caught stealing, and then Shore retired 26 in a row.
The first combined no-hitter in MLB history.

On June 23 against the Washington Senators, after walking the leadoff hitter, Ruth erupted in anger, was ejected, and threw a punch at the umpire, which would result in a ten-game suspension. Ernie Shore came into the game in relief, the baserunner was out stealing, and Shore retired all twenty-six batters he faced, for which he was credited with a perfect game until the 1990s. Ruth's outburst was an example of self-discipline problems that plagued Ruth throughout his career, and is regarded as the primary reason (other than financial) that then-owner Harry Frazee was willing to sell him to the Yankees two years later.
