Not the best ever but 2003 cubs rotation was pretty good. Prior, Wood, and Zambrano.

Poor middle relief/ closers. No real 'clutch' player besides justice the year they won it. Plus ran into other good/great teams.

True, years past there were not as many strong teams. But they always had 2 to3 super bad arse teams in both leagues.

Avery Maddox and Glavine didn’t throw “hard” but all could get to 90-91

Def was. Also pitched when managers allowed pitchers to get a high pitch count. Now guy hits 70 pitches , time for bullpen action.
