That’s true. Byrd has an alumni base that is pretty influential by most standards around the south. The magnet school allowed it to remain alive during the 80’s when the neighborhood side went way downhill.

Not sure that 4th down play for Catholic was legal. Two players moving in the backfield when the ball was snapped. But Louisiana uses its own HS rules instead of college rules, so I’m not certain.
