Ross is there cause Lester wants him to be.

If Schwarber can stick at catcher, then I want to deal Montero for pitching as soon as Schwarber is ready.

We're getting out of hand with how we are looking for reasons for David Ross to be active on this 25 man roster. Miguel Montero is not the issue, here, man.

Also, I had no idea that Schwarber has started 0 games in LF this season in the minors. 37 at C, 17 as a DH.

Yea, but i've been told he looks like a LF. that's gotta account for way more than your silly stats.

Hey, I'm aboard the LF pain train for this year if it gets him in the lineup. Maybe I'm jumping the gun on some great hitting in just a few games. I also think that if the Cubs say he can be a ML catcher, then he can be a ML catcher.

I'm glad I'm not a GM. Wouldn't mind the pay rate, though.

Hamels was scratched from his most recent start due to a hamstring injury, so of course he...

Can't have both Montero and Schwarber at C. They are both too valuable to split time.

Montero can bring us back some assets.

I think he could buy some time at LF if this keeps up. Why not do it to get his bat in the lineup, and he can continue to work on developing his catching in the offseason and spring.

He did play 36 in the LF and 20 at C last season though

Bryant didn't log an inning in the OF in the minors yet has played there 5 times since he was called up

never know what Maddon will do.

probably me. IF (that's my caveat) he can stay behind the plate (or at least everyone associated with player development truly believes he can). Again...because I'd just go buy a better pitcher next offseason.

This also assumes that the hamstring injury for which he was scratched recently is absolutely nothing.

I'd say no but at the same time, I think it's fair.

but not change the development schedule for a promising player.

I disagree slightly here. I think the FO has mentioned that if they think a guy can help the team win then they would definitely bring him up in order to help the ball club make a playoff run. I think it is pretty obvious that we are going to be in the running for a playoff spot at the end of this season. Especially with how much better the bullpen has gotten and now Neil Ramirez will be back soon. Even if that player has to move to a different position temporarily. They will do whatever it takes to makes the playoffs if they have that chance.
