Their defense didn’t play poorly. They played soft and didn’t seem to recognize that when they pressured young he panicked

Agree.
He should have recruited a Heisman QB and the best players at every position.
He would have won the game.

Lineup on point, damn near Jalen Rose-esque

I saw a game where Bama just overpowered them on most plays.
And then I fell asleep before halftime.

He had 6 year seniors each of the last four seasons?

That's well below their average and they only had 17 points late with their offense having like two sustained drives all game

Mercer and Southern Miss each scored multiple touchdowns on Bama this season.
Luke was scared.
Luke was scared.

They were too afraid of Williams over the top so they kept the safeties back and UA killed them for it in the run game.
And I’m no strategist but I never saw them adjust. Was clear after first ten plays how this would play out if they make some changes. Right?

exactly.
Yeah, if only he had enough sense to tell all of the 4 and 5 star guys in Ohio to attend UC and not OSU.
Don't know what he was thinking.

Eta- it felt like his approach was to keep it close and hope to catch a break. Didn’t seem to try and create any opportunities themselves.
This isn’t a video game. You can’t just “go for the deep one”. Their only chance to actually win the game was to keep it close to the best and hope Bama makes mistakes
Between the muffed punt and Bryce young errant passes it almost happened

What fricking game did you watch? Young was very uncomfortable in the pocket for the majority of the game.
They blitzed once in the second half. Rarely blitzed in the first half too.
They were getting pressure at times without the blitz, but they needed to force the issue and didn’t do it enough. Alabama converted 2 3rd and 15+ And got 12 yards on 3rd and 14 then converted the 4th down play.
The Cincy defense simply wasn’t good enough either.

Alabama had an advantage in the trenches, and there wasn’t much that was going to overcome that.

Alabama ran the ball at will and pushed the Los back 4 yards with only 4 rushing on defense
That happened constantly all game. When that happens your only chance as the other team is pray you keep it close somehow and hope the other team turns it over

But that’s not their style. I hate the idea of getting to the big stage and then laying an egg going away from your strengths.
I watched the game - Ridder had time plenty often enough. Just wasn’t executing and they didn’t ask him to take many shots, unfortunately.
A bunch of underneath routes was what Alabama wanted them to do, and they happily obliged.

That is what I mostly saw.
