From a pure contract setup, I understand and agree with the decision not to re-sign if they had to give him more than 4 years. He’s past 30 and those long-term deals tend to become an albatross at that age. Yesterday’s heroics aside, the Altuve deal is starting to trend in that direction.
With all that said, I miss Springer and I agree that his clubhouse presence may be missed.

I don't guess he's traveling with the team. Was really looking forward to him getting an ovation from the fans.
