Really wish we still had that 19 game lead right about now. Thr lead is still significant but 19 straight road games. That's brutal. Especially since we're already not playing well.

One of my friends who lives in Houston but came to Dallas to evacuate is pissed it Isn't being played in Arlington lol.

He can thank Jon Daniels for that

Daniels said Rangers offered to put on games this week as visiting club; but declined to swap home & home series.

They have to keep them midweek games baw

Are you Reid Ryan?
He's not holding back and punches on letting the Rangers look like dicks.

Lol. I hope we sweep those frickers

Reid is showing that he has inherited a lot of "bad-arse mofo" traits from his dad. I like it.

Am I the only one who can see why Texas wouldn't agree to switch. I plan two or three trips to Houston a season to watch the Astros. I plan the trips months in advance. Now I of course would understand if the Astros would have done the switch in the opposite situation, but I can see why.

Probably. frick the Rangers

Jesus some of you are salty as frick for not wanting to switch a home series late in the season in what may make or break Texas' playoff chances.
No reasonable GM would make that trade. We have already committed to donating money from our weekend series. Not sure why McCullers decides to drag the club's name through the dirt.
Even with the division all but wrapped up, Texas donating money, the player's still can't get something the front office does out of their head.
Texas didn't have to agree to anything. They offered to shorten the distance of a home series and allow some fans to possibly attend and Houston said no. That isn't Texas' fault.

The optics are pretty terrible.
"Oh no our fans won't have a series in a few weeks"
...meanwhile 10's of thousands don't have homes in Houston
ETA: and you are the one salty as frick.
If you can't see this as bad PR, you're more of a homer than I thought

Don't die on this hill baw. The Rangers organization was selfish here, and it is obviously not the fans' fault.

How was Texas selfish? We shouldn't have to give up our own chances to help another team out when we were are in a playoff race. We offered to have the games in Arlington, to allow Houston fans to attend and enjoy games and maybe take their mind off of this hurricane shite for a few hours.
Hell, Texas even offered to give ALL revenue to Houston.
Not sure what else anyone can expect.

Yes I'm sure money was the main priority during negotiations

Like, even I know this take is bad when Houston people on r/baseball are agreeing saying Texas Was out in a lose/lose situation regarding PR in this.
Maybe the other WC teams had something to say about it, but I feel like playing in Arlington would have been more accommodating for Houston, especially for the thousands of Houstonians and South Texans who are currently in or on their way to DFW. Plus Astros are 4-2 vs. Texas in Arlington this year, which is the exact same record they have vs. Texas at home.
it comes down to the fact that the Rangers offered Reid Ryan a better deal than playing the series in Tampa, and he choose to play in Tampa anyway. But it's the Rangers' fault lol. It's being blown out of proportion
