Would go into play next off season I imagine since this season has begun. A lot of teams would be pissed if they let a player go thinking a pick back and it didn't happen.

I totally get what you are saying

... but we are so far passed the stage of me getting my hopes up.

Did you see that tweet about E5's home run chart that said "RIP Crawford Boxes"

How can you not get your hopes up??

Maybe I'm skeptical because I think it's crazy to give EE 5 years.

Jayson Stark is reporting that rosters jump to 26....

quote:

Among the changes agreed to in the new labor deal, according to sources: * The luxury-tax threshold will jump from $189 million to $195 million initially, then gradually increase. * Teams that exceed the threshold will pay similar tax rates to the current deal unless they go way over the threshold, in which case their tax rate could jump to as high as 90 percent. * Teams signing a free agent will not have to give up a draft pick unless they've exceeded the luxury-tax threshold, in which case they would lose a pick later in the draft. * Instead of an international draft, each team will have a hard cap on total bonuses it can give to foreign-born players. * Rosters will increase from 25 players to 26 before Sept. 1. It was not immediately clear whether the rules would change after Sept. 1. * The labor agreement is a five-year deal, covering the 2017-2021 seasons.

Me too. 5 years from now a lot of our current young core is going to be looking for a lot of money. So hopefully it all works out.

I like the Astros position for the future better than the Angels.

5 years isn't bad imo. Any longer and I'd be skeptical but I feel like 5 years is the sweet spot for him.

Money isn't a huge deal but I'm just not huge on giving a 34 year old 5 years. If we sign him I'm still ecstatic.

I love the fact that ownership is willing to spend and get stars like E5. With this potential signing our lineup is downright filthy.
