Who’s he talking to?

Astros management/ownership?

His mom?

An ex-girlfriend?

A 3rd string C trying to call a game?

I’m seeing Urquidy to Pittsburgh. I could just be really late.

He appeared in 14 games, starting four of them in the middle infield. Winkler went 4-16 with a stolen base and committed two errors in 44 1/3 innings of defensive work. He otherwise spent the season at Triple-A Jacksonville, where he hit .225/.299/.333 with a 28% strikeout rate in his first action at the level. Winkler was an asset on the bases in the minors, stealing 25 bags in 76 games without getting thrown out. He played mostly third base in Triple-A with sporadic action up the middle.

This is the kind of dominating front office move that wins championships.

We've got like double the draft capital (in picks and bonus pool) we had last year. Maybe the farm system will start getting right again

Doubtful given the GMs track record.

Outstanding.

We get 4 sun bleached piles of cat pop instead of 2.

It appears that our beloved Electronic Sock is about to get traded.

Nah its fine. Correa is gonna hit .260 with 16 home runs and play in 100 games.

We don't deserve Isaacs brand of ball. Guarantee whoever we bring back has a first pitch swing percentage of 98.4% and takes like 5 walks a year. Espadaball.

If they can pull off something for Duran, I will still be pumped. He is a dynamo and something the Astros are lacking. I also think he would settle in emotionally in a lesser market.

I am skeptical that’s who it would be, and it’s brutal they put themselves in this corner with little leverage trading a very good player

From what I'm gathering, Duran is actually quite attainable but we want Abreu (because he's got more control and cheap). Astros want more wiggle room below the tax for potential in-season moves. That could lead to a deal with the Pirates or someone else for the best value that provides more salary flexibility, no matter what the makeup of the package is.

However, trading Paredes and not getting back a starting bat for the top 5 of the order would be stupid.

In my opinion Duran is the much better player, even with a year less of control (I think) If they trade him for prospects I don’t really understand the point, but they do a lot of shite that makes no sense at this point

All true.

If you get a Duran and want to dump salary, trade Jake and Sanchez. It's not that difficult.

I still have no idea they even tendered Sanchez. I believe he’s making 6? I thought they could figure something out for him but it didn’t click. You can sign a Tauchmann or other platoon guy for 3/4 mil easy at this point, and you can do that ever year at this point.

They wanted insurance of at least one left-handed hitting outfielder who is proven at the time of that decision. They can still find a taker for him out there so I get it.

But just give us this group in the outfield and we'll be fine:

Duran
Smith
Cole
Dezenzo
Matthews
Whitcomb
