Why are you pretty sure about that?

Opinion

Still believe any NY media, NY media at Met Gala and NY contacts over an ESPN ratings hound. NY ate that saga up at the time and any hint of it would have been all over the place immediately after the interview.

ARod and the Marlins are in Miami, where LeBatard lives and has closer ties than the NY Post. He's well connected to all things Miami sports, moreso than probably anyone else in the media, I'd imagine.

Not sure why you're assigning anything w/ESPN here. LeBatard is pretty darn respected as a journalist, and his track record is about as good as anyone's, not sure why you'd choose to not believe him.

And again, it doesn't mean the NY Post was wrong, it may just mean, that news wasn't out when they broke the story.

I remember when these two were the biggest bff's in baseball around 2004. Strange how their relationship turned so sour.

Wasnt strange, arod threw jeter under the bus in esquire. Jeter thought they were good friends and was pissed his friend did that.

I disagree and Posada's play was much more impressive. I don't get the Jeter bj fest. I mean he was good borderline great but people act like he was a legend.

man I hate the yankees and Jeter as much as anyone but this is dumb

Didn't he say something like "Jeter doesn't know what it's like to be a leader in a clubhouse" or something? A Rod did a hell of a job leading all those Rangers teams to 71 wins lmao

Pretty much. Said it was easy for jeter because teams werent scared of him batting in the 2 hole and he was surrounded by great players and leaders.

Watched the interview. They looked fine with each other. It looked like both of them were ready to beat the piss out of that lil douche that was interviewing them. It was obvious they were trying not to be dicks & made jokes of the questions

That was pretty brutal. It was like the interviewer just got there and had no idea who he was interviewing or what it was about. A-Rod seems like a nice guy though

People act like he was a legend because he is a legend. Dude was the SS and captain of the most polarizing MLB team for 20 years, considered to be the face of baseball, gold glove winner, member of the 3000 hits club; the list goes on.

He's also having his number retired this weekend, last single digit number to be retired for the Yankees. He will be a first ballot hall of famer.

Yeah Derek Jeter is a legend of MLB baseball; sorry you're too ignorant to admit that

Your post is spot on, and I say that as a Red Sox fan. Hated the guy when we played against him, but I got to watch him in plenty of games, even in his last stand at Fenway. The guy deserves every accolade he receives!
