So how did it happen? They step wrong, and instead of merely dislocating something, it actually just breaks?

ETA: I have more experience with rotator cuff, labrum (shoulder & hip), elbow ligaments, wrist, knee, and ankle/achilles ligament injuries.

Not as much with fractures.
