IMO, that's part of the problem, but that's an entirely different discussion. There are plenty of female sports reporters who worked hard to get where they were by using their brains, and they still don't have the notoriety that EA and others do because they aren't "pretty" enough. That's symptomatic of some of the problems in our society...
I'm not even sure it's a problem in our society
people are hard wired to like people who are more attractive... even if they are the same sex
Network anchors are typically good looking - and there's generally a pretty real ceiling to your career if you look more like John Snell than Peter Jennings

So you don't think that the objectification of women is a problem in our society?

The "joke" is welcome to smash with me.

JMO - the word objectification is a made up nonsense word to avoid further reasonable discussion
The reality is we are all "objectified" if you think about it - people make tons of assumptions about people based on their appearance... those assumptions typically have sexist, racist, and otherwise discriminatory undertones
And at some level when the assumption or objectification is a flattering one we don't mind... it's only when we don't like the assumptions or baggage that goes with it that most people get upset

She isn't there to be Bob Woodward.
You summed it up...she fulfills her role and fills her clothes just fine...of course the bozos on here likely don't know who Bob Woodward is! What a dumb-arse thread! I like Rachel Nichols too...how can you not like women who want to be involved in sports...many women/wifes simply try to ruin a man's love for sports!

It's your fault if you expected a fine arse blonde with legs to the moon to be some earth shatteringly scoopalicious reporter. She's there for eye candy and nothing more.
I wonder if Ryno has also come to the realization that water is wet?

anyone else find it sad that this guy wants erin andrews to teach him more about college football?

i do. she is there to look at and the hotel incident makes her even more watched. it isnt her fault that they pay her six figures though.

I'd like to see EA join TNA wrestling and take on the beautiful people.

If you haven't noticed, ALL of the college football analysts on ESPN are practically carnies. They are there for the show, not for the substance.
Why should EA be held to a different standard? I respect her opinion more than I do Lee Corso, Mark May, or Elmer Fudd.

She's a fricking sideline reporter, what do you want.
A sideline reporter with a fricking penis!
One that knows the game and can correctly speak the English language! (Mos defnitly no Erik Dickerson's, you know, dat cants be talkin in a propa way, you know)
Sick of all the pretty little clueless whores running around down on the field, with their Jordy Hultberg style humor and soft ball questions. Get em all the hell out of there and onto the Food Channel where they belong......

She is just as much a journalist as all these ex-coaches and retired football players.
That's like saying she's as much a journalist as Karl Rove or Bob Beckel.
Like Rove and Beckel, Jon Gruden, Gary Danielson, et al provide analysis based on their longtime experience in a certain field.
She is there for:
1) Tits and arse
2) Political correctness ("Look we're inclusive!")
3) If you get women to watch, not only will you increase ratings but you also lessen the possibility of successful counter-programming.

She is no more a professional serious journalist/broadcaster than Inez Sainz is.
She is there to flirt with players and do puff pieces about shoelaces on the michigan QB all the while smiling really big and trying to make it sound like its some earth shatteringly important scoop.
Her "one of the boys" act with Herbstreit, Fowler, and Desmond Howard is running thin as well.
She is a complete JOKE and HACK. She has no business covering major sports
So tell us how you REALLY feel.

I have to agree, she is terrible on the 9am hour of Gameday.

Then why are you watching gameday? Gameday =/= sports, Gameday = The View for people who occasionally watch sports.
