...it's the head coach's job to hire good position coaches and coordinators.

Day gets credit for the championship last year.

Or he could have let Hartline retain play calling during the playoffs. Other coordinators have done fine with retaining play calling duties during the playoffs, while moving to much bigger jobs than South Florida.

Day micromanaging the situation added unnecessary change on top of the long layoff.
