Nah, I was just messing with y'all. I love my s55's and hit them well. I had the 1-20's before and much prefer these. Go hit them both and see what you like, but don't let some guy on the internet talk you in or out of a set.
Don't worry, that won't happen. Just looking for someone who may already have the Apex's and can give an honest opinion. My bag is Callaway and I love Callaway irons so I want to stick with those...IF I like 'em when I hit 'em.
First set I ever bought were the Ping Eye 2's...years ago. Loved 'em. Until I hit the Callaway X-12's.

To an extent, I agree. But if that were entirely true, I'd just go to the pawn shop and get me a set of Ram blades for 35 bucks...

I swing burner 2.0 irons and honestly like them...
That's what I swing now. The black ones. They're nice. But I'm OCD. Taylormade irons in a Callaway bag aggravates me a bit. Strange, I know. But the bag was a gift from my Dad and I'm not ditching it.

Not to brag, but id bet lots of money I could go get a 35$ set of clubs and beat the vast majority of people on this board.
So for me it is true.
Learning how to properly swing a golf club is far more important than the brand.

Callaway Apex are LONG. STUPID LONG. They also have strong lofts though.

Umm...that's bragging.

Well sure it is but that 35 dollar set will be nowhere near as forgiving as today's equipment.

i would take that bet

I'd bet against that. Because you wouldn't have any ur ball flight or distances.

Whole set? Woods, irons, wedges, putter?
Sure you could beat the vast majority of people on the MSB/TD, because the vast majority don't play golf.
But I'd take the field against you all day playing the GB all-stars.

If your golf game (with your 35.00 clubs) is as good as you trying to sell your house with all the ridiculous stipulations, I'll put my money on the field.

How about their facility in Dallas, TX? I've been looking to see where the best place to get fit is and what is actually worth the money. I've never been fitted before so I don't have a lot of info to go off of

If I could convince the wife that I needed to go to Scottsdale Arizona to get fitted for clubs that I don't even need, I'd be the greatest salesman in the history of salesmen.
Maybe I should have said, "best place(s) to get fit LOCALLY. These places like Golf Discount in Lafayette, Premier Golf in Houma or even Edwin Watts in Metarie...would you trust them to do the deed?
I tend to think that the employees there wouldn't be as qualified as say a golf pro/teacher at some of the nicer courses in SE Louisiana.

Going to a box store is not a fitting. 99% of those workers could not tell the difference between a putter and a driver. None of them could build a club if they tried.
Not sure if there is a true option in LA. Maybe James leitz but he may just fit for titleist

I don't have an established handicap anywhere. On a good day I can shoot a 78. On a bad day, 85.
Is that possible?
Are you talking about 18 or 9 holes?
If I ever break 80 you'd never get me off the course and I DAMN sure would have a handicap??

Of course it's possible. What I mean is, I don't have a PGA officially recognized handicap. I'm not a member anywhere. I play on the PGA Golf Pass. Therefore I don't have a true handicap in the eyes of the PGA.

I guess the benefit to having an established handicap would come in if you wanted to play a PGA affiliated tournament...where a recognized handicap is a must to play.
Since I don't play those, I don't worry about it. Seems like maybe 8 years ago or so I got on a website that let you log in scores and it was somehow recognized as a true handicap. Lowest I ever got was 8...nothing special but still decent.
Then rotator cuff surgery came along...and work (international)...and little league...and soccer, etc. The game has suffered as a result of less time put in.
