Does Malzahn rank above Tubs for Auburn fans? I believe one SEC title each, and of course Tub's "recent" 04 title.

Its close but Id put Malzahn over Tubbs. I think his road was harder and he coached at a time where the SEC was supreme in college football. Meanwhile, his biggest rival was on the best run of any college team ever and his second rival basically took over where they left off.

I love both those coaches but if I had to place them, Id put Malzahn above Tubbs. Plus, he gave us Auburn fans some of the best moments we have ever experienced

I may get downvoted but frick no. Tubs benefited from Bama being down. He made some dumbass calls, riverboat gambler and what not. That fake punt out of the endzone at UF in I think 03 was ridiculous. Who fake punts out of their own endzone? lol

Malzahn on the other hand was punished by Saban across the state his entire career.

I give Malzahn a lot of credit for the 2010 championship too.

Always impressed how he went 3-4 or 3-5 against Saban.

That was more his title than Chizik's.

It’s a shame he never got to be the Arkansas HC.

He still has a shot at it when Silverfield gets canned in three or four years

I really liked Gus this year. Y'all know better than me but I wouldn't be surprised if he just wanted to get the hell away from Norvell and pops up somewhere else

Gus Malzahns principles have permeated all ranks of football. From a high school coach to major college football coach who was a couple stops away from a national championship.

This was after beating the two time defending national champion Alabama Crimson Tide in an all time classic 2013 Iron Bowl. His team lost to an FSU team stocked at every position with legitimate NFL talent .

Recruiting got away from Malzahn in the end but he deserves plenty of credit.

Not to mention he was the OC for the 2010 national champion Auburn Tigers.

Congrats on a great career Coach Malzahn !

I will never forget that damn 2013 Iron Bowl.
