Lebron and Kobe are ambassadors of the game. To say that they are the only superstars is just crazy.

Give me Blake he is being misused in LAC if he was fed in the post he would be even more dominant. Instead they've got CP3 out there banging the ball on the court all game setting up shots for the Matt barnes of the NBA.

there is a lot of truth to this statement.

What does a Grantland link have to do with my opinion on two players?

I don't care what some clipper fan thinks.

Right now as of today, I'd take Griffin. In the future, I may think Davis. But today is today.

Hard to disagree with him going by his definition of superstar. If you want to argue what being a superstar means that's a whole different topic. To me a superstar is as much about name recognition as it is about performance.

Blake Griffin is the most marketable player in the NBA outside of Lebron. He's one of the 10 best players in the NBA and plays in LA

I'd love to hear why he isn't considered a superstar

Even after Anthony Davis just completed the most efficient season ever by any player not named Michael, LeBron, or Wilt?

not saying he isn't but by the other posters definition, transcending the game, there's kobe and lebron and they're on a level of their own. If you show someone who never watches basketball a pic of Griffin, Lebron, and Kobe chances are Griffin would be the one that the average person wouldn't recognize.

And I'm an astronaut. Of course I can't prove it, but who cares about proof when I have anonymity?

Okay in my opinion since the 80's there's been these guys as Superstars

Doc
Magic
Bird
Jordan
LeBron
Kobe
Shaq
Yao (due to his popularity in all of Asia as well as China)

A superstar is someone who can transcend race, social, economics, national labels.

A star is someone known and is a great player.

Then you need to refine your definition.

Just think of the people watching television worldwide. Griffin is all over Subway and Kia commercials. He's got charisma and personality. He's got a top 10 jersey.

There are probably Tons of people who think he's the guy from the Kia commercial who don't even know he's a basketball player
