Kansas isn't quite hated (or loved) like duke, unc, and Kentucky from what I can tell. Just a tiny notch below them. Being in the Midwest helps with that.

Hinrich was more hated than collison because he was a white guard and did all the scrappy shite that people like to hate on the court. White bigs are more common, especially at Kansas, so it wasn't surprising that we had a guy like collison.
But even those guys, whose teams were just as successful and who were close to as good individually as redick any hansbrough weren't hated nearly as much.

Apparently Hinrich is a really hateable guy off the court. Or at least he was in his college days. It was a bit before social media. Otherwise people would have had a lot of fun with a guard who thinks he's in Malibu's Most Wanted.

I never had a problem with him. I have no idea why he was so hated.

Most fan energy was spent on jeff boschee who was called the backstreet boy of KU and was an all star at the bars. The thing with Hinrich, even though he was awesome, is that he was the 2nd or 3rd best player on the team his whole career behind Gooden and collison and then just collison senior year. Yeah really good and hateable, but not redick or hansbrough level on either scale.
And hansbrough is easily my most hated player ever. Aaron craft might be next simply because Kansas played ohio state like 3 times with craft and I just thought he was awful. Redick is definitely up there.
I think I hated Noah a lot but I keep liking him more and more so it's clouding my memory.

Mayo didn't bother me. Mostly because he helped elevated Patrick Patterson at Huntington and he's easily one of my favorite players to put on a Kentucky uniform.

He truly is universally the most hated player since Laettner I think. I really don't know anybody who liked him.

His style of play is much less appealing than Laettner's, IMO. Also he really does sound like one of the dumbest people alive. There's a reason why his people tried to scrub the internet of his Acura commercial.

Oh definitely. I can hate Laettner all day, but as I said earlier he's undoubtedly one of the best college players to take the court. Especially in the post-season. And I think you can respect his play because he played in physical games and could push right back.

I had an irrational hatred of Greg Ostertag for awhile. Totally irrational though.
