Can't find any info here today.

Eta: Is this accidentally going to become the 2026 F1 thread? Did I do a thing? I'm definitely not worthy. I was only looking for the F1 thread to catch up on happenings, and now this! One of you Haasheads or Tifosis need to run this thing!

There was a 2025 season thread stickied at the bottom all year. The previous year we had probably 500 pages and the bottom sticky cut the conversation in half. Hate the bottom of the page sticky. But I guess they let it fall since it's 2026 and the season is over. A new thread will start back soon.

Pretty pumped for this season with the addition of the Cadillac team. Also excited to see all the new regulations.

Whoever start the season thread usually spends some time on it. Includes tons of relevant info for the upcoming season.

Audi had their car on the track today.

I mean I could write a book on how Audi is going to kill the Volkswagen Auto Group by entering in F1.

Please do?

Using Audi as the brand still seeks a little strange to me.
I know their endurance car prowess was a thing.

Why is Audi bad? I think Porsche would have made more sense but Audi seems to be doing things the right way. They haven’t rushed things and should be ready to go at the start of the season. Not sure about their two drivers tho.

I saw where Cadillac is designing as many parts for their car in house as possible instead of just buying everything from Ferrari. Might cause some growing pains early but should set them up for longer term success.

Porsche probably doesn't need the brand recognition as much. Or maybe there is less to gain.

More ability to sell merch or sell Audis to enthusiasts.

They sold out. ESPN had F1 for years and did an outstanding job. No commercials during races and very limited ones during practice.

F1 sold the TV rights to Apple and just lost their American market. People are tired of streamers taking content. Too many and its mucked up sports viewing.

They will lose over 30-35% of US viewers at a time they could have grown the sport with a new US Cadillac team and Nascar flailing. Now Nascar will regain lost viewers. So will Indycar but due to much fewer races its hard for them to maintain traction with so many gaps in season.

Never been much of a F1 follower. However Haas entering and Ford returning to the sport has peaked my interest a bit.

Yes but they need more races. Too many gaps in schedule and they lose viewers by the long gaps. They should still increase viewers with F1 losing lots.

Haas has been in F1 for years now. Its Cadillac joining this year as a new team. Right when they limit viewers. Bad timing. I usually don’t like ESPN but they did great in F1. No more

I don't really see the Glen happening. Its in the middle of nowhere and would struggle to support the influx of people and equipment for an F1 weekend not to mention the problems with getting the circuit up to FIA standards.

When I was a kid, my family took a trip to Niagara Falls and we went through Watkins Glen. At that time the track was closed and basically abandoned. My dad took my mom's 4dr Oldsmobile Cutlass and drove us around the track.
