In terms of earning potential, it has to be golf or basketball. The top players in those sports make an obscene amount of money every year when you factor in endorsements.

golf like a lot of the rest of you

I'd like to be ranked about 100, don't really have to worry about qualifying but you aren't really famous so mostly you won't get bothered but if you ever wanted to be bothered (or get laid) you could always pipe up with the "Hey, I'm a pro golfer card."

It also seems like you would be more connected business-wise afterwards.

Assuming I was good enough to have a long career and retire with good health...

As a starter, it would have to be an NFL punter (low injury, low stress).

As any player, it would be a left-handed middle-relief / setup pitcher (high pay per hour of work).

For the most money relative to work and low injury risk, it would be golf.

I gave this one some serious thought. Two fights a year making 50 million a fight, not a bad gig.

Didn't even consider this. I was thinking more along the lines of what sport I would actually enjoy doing. But making 40-50 mil per fight would be unreal.

I'd be a pro alpine ski racer. Travel the world every year, compete in the Olympics, still make millions without the negative celebrity of mainstream sports.

Pro golfer would be a pretty close second tho.

But you have to train your arse off year round and then get punched in the face repeatedly. Golf is the obvious answer.
Baseball would be awesome also.
