Uhm..

Of course.

I did exactly that for 90% of my 11-18 years.

I walked across the stage at my HS graduation, directly out the door to the back of the building, hopped into a car to be driven to the airport, and flew to NYC to throw a bullpen in Shea Stadium for the Mets brass.

I was slightly busy with baseball growing up

The difference IMHO between tennis and baseball or other travel sports is with baseball, you will usually have a few other friends in it with you. You arent alone. With tennis, you are the only one from your area or high school doing it. You pretty much give up any semblance of normalcy at all. Not saying you couldnt have done it, but most simply cant or wont

I would have struggled with that.

No bologna the people I played baseball with are still my best friends. And our parents, who treated our games and tournaments like a LSU tailgate, are all still great friends.

We were all from the same neighborhood and the exact opposite of what you think of when you think of baseball parents. My mom and our coach worked for Miller and our name AND logo were a beer they sold

All of that made it pretty easy to enjoy. I'm not sure I could have done the solo thing.

As others have said, it’s really not a HS

Exactly, it’s a sports training facility that started offering classes a few years ago so kids wouldn’t have to leave campus. They used to go to area schools.

I think Deion Sanders had some super poorly run/shady football factory here for a while that was under a ton of scrutiny.

It was a charter school in Texas and named Prime Prep Academy. The Texas Education Agency ultimately revoked its charter school license.

Let's not forget something that plays a HUGE part in why its so popular with tennis, a lot of these foreign kids are from eastern europe, asia, etc. When they fly in with their parents and its 65 and sunny out in December compared to Lithuania or Estonia and -10 that's huge. Plus they learn English and make American friends.

Really not a lot different if you are from NYC and or Ohio, except for the American benefits.
