I've never claimed to be otherwise.

I love LSU and I love college football, but I hate watching LSU play
When LSU's defense is rolling I cannot understand how people can find that boring football. It hasn't been on that level in a while but 2010/2011 defenses were awesome to watch (sans hatcher)

I'm tired of hearing Les is a wonderful person. Do you know him personally? Are you his close friend? If not, you have no idea whatsoever what type of person he is behind closed doors.
Wow.
I can get taking a shot at his on the field accolades in the last few years. Such as, poor clock management, frustrating stranglehold on the offense, and inability to ever ever find or develop a quarterback. but to question his character and everything he's done for the city of Baton Rouge and the State of Louisiana???
This makes you either a window licking mouth breather or a troll.
Here are just a few things Miles has done as a humanitarian:
- During his vacation, went to Cuba to hand out sports equipment to the poor unprivileged children their.
- Befriended Sid (dying cancer patient - RIP). And was the kids hero and best friend up until the day he passed.
- Regularly visits active duty troops stationed in/near war efforts.
- Annually, him and Kathy, host an event with the Children's Miracle Network and raises hundreds of thousands of dollars.
- In addition, he is active in many other local events such as the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center annual fundraiser, the Special Olympics and the Baton Rouge Children’s Advocacy Center Celebrity
If that's not enough, how many times have previous players, players, and recruits been interviewed and absolutely glowed about their interactions with Miles and what a great person he is to them, their family, and their community.
Should i continue or do you want to disappear from this thread for your uneducated and idiotic comment.....?

Overrated. All that talent last few years. shite to show for it.

Not sure about Saban as the best ever. What Bowden did between like from 1987 to 2000 will never be matched. I know he didn't win as many titles but his record speaks for itself.

What pisses me off is people always bringing up "he's a great guy" for a reason to keep him as a coach. I'd take a serial killer as long as he won multiple national titles and had us in the hunt every year. I don't care about what Les has done personally and I think most people just parrot the "he's a great guy" stuff without every knowing why.

I think Les is appropriately rated... He has his brainfart moments and the offense is tough to watch at times but he recruits well and wins a lot.
I don't think Saban is even close to the best coach ever...
Greatest CFB recruiter ever? Probably so
I think I could coach the talent he has every year and win 10-11 games
If he was the greatest coach ever, he would not have failed in the NFL where the talent is balanced.

He's a nice guy, good recruiter, runs a fairly clean program and is good for the university. He can't coach a lick on game days and should relinquish all controls to his coordinators.

Is Les Miles grossly underrated?
Only by LSU fans, athletic department, and administration.
I'm amazed he didn't take another job when they tried to hire someone to take his place and failed.
Props to Les. He deserves better.

Like anyone else would pay Les anywhere near what he's making at LSU now

I get that, but that's no reason to question the actual things he does for people and the community. But you are correct, we do not pay 4.3 million dollar a year to be a good person, we pay him that to bring in top notch recruits and compete for a SEC and/or national championship on a yearly basis
a lot of programs would take that chance for the success LSU has seen in 10 years.

I don't get why people don't like the offense. It's how old school football is played.
Because when he goes up against equal or greater talent.. you can't just impose your will.. and yet he stubbornly tries to.
It works great against inferior competition.

i think he's grossly overrated
he has superbeasts as recruits and they win him games based on their talent alone and not coaching
he's a lucky man...but a NICE man

They are favored pretty much every game. He just doesn't upset anyone that often.
If you're favored in games, how do you suppose he upset teams? Unless you're only talking about Alabama

He also jumped on UF by 3-4 TD's in 2011 then started milking the clock with still half of the 2nd qtr left to play, not to mention the entire second half.
That's what you're supposed to do. And LSU won by 30. Only an LSU fan would find something to complain about in a blowout
Posted on 3/30/16 at 9:45 am to AmericanSpirit
If I was the coach and went and got fricked up with the team at Bogies and we brought the same girls home, would that make me a good coach? They'd all love me and play hard for me.

This thread is bringing all the mental midgets to the table.
I love the "Miles wins on Talent alone" meme as if LSU has more talent than every other team in the country.
But Saban who unequivocally and unquestionably has more talent than every other team, wins with coaching according to you same morons
What a bunch of hypocrites.

The ones who get angry when people endorse Les' character are probably the most amusing stripe of negatiger
