He's not saying analytics is racist. He's basically saying players don't like analytics telling them what they can or can't do.
Ehh, at a minimum he's saying analytics are used as a cover for racially motivated actions.

Most players don't like analytics so his opinion is not new. To tell any athlete, baseball, basketball, or football or hockey and so on that the analytics means we have to pull you from the game in these situations or not play you under these conditions is frustrating to anyone who's played a game at a high level.
yeah well those same guys also defended the long 2 point shot and refused to improve from 3. they also LOVE Kobe Bryant, funny enough

no no
he's saying that analytics are an institutional tool with racist results
it's a structural argument, not a tactile one

People who have played basketball generally make horrible GMs.

that makes a ton of sense and is very visible to pretty much anyone who pays attention

also, another baseball-playing poster on this board had a pretty famous style change due to analytics

i would love to see him on here and ask him questions about the dodgers. but alas, i dont think hed be as open to questions as reauxly is

he's been low key for years now, on here and FB

the fact that he was in goldennuggets infamous kershaw thread and apparently showed that to him is just so epic

One time he backed me up on here in an argument on reliever use in the major leagues. It was perhaps my finest internetting moment

I HAD NO IDEA THIS HAPPENED

Michael Jordan is the GOAT, but he can't build a team for shite. We see it all the time. Players sometimes judge talent terribly. Fans do this a lot, too. You'll have Derrick Rose being one of the leaders in vote for all star, when he had no business being that high.

Every time I ever saw him pop in I never realized it was him until way later

The 2nd organization was the Cubs right as Epstein took over.
He was around. Maddon was around. The big leaguers were around. Past Cubs legends were always around.
We never wanted for anything. Every coach throughout the organization was on the same page.
They completely ended this notion that you’re an individual trying to “get outs” for such a long period of time that you eventually find yourself in that mythical land called the Major Leagues.
The entire organization felt and acted like one big team. You were just working on what they wanted until you were molded into a player that could be an asset for the big guys.

What was your first team and how far up did you get in the minors? I had no idea you were a pro until today.
There was a really long article in the Ringer earlier this week, actually a chapter in the new book from staff writer Ben Lindbergh who used to be with Fangraphs and Baseball Prospectus, about the Astros’ player development and how it had a huge role in developing younger prospects but also Gerrit Cole, who was amazed at the stuff he was being told in his first individual meeting with the analytics staff.
It definitely seems like proper communication is more than half of the road to success.

which is interesting, cause im sure that team that drafted you is still struggling to this day
you would think eventually that they would look around and realize they need to change their way of doing things. but i guess thats why they are shite organizations. kind of like what the lakers are doing now
