compare his numbers to the last TE inducted from this passing era, Shannon Sharpe. He wont come close to that.
And there is the heart of your fallacy. You believe that he has to have Sharpe numbers to get into the Hall, when he doesn't.
He's going to have credible numbers for a HOF TE. They're not going to be top end numbers, like a Gates/Gonzalez/Sharpe produces and gets in to the HOF. They don't have to be. He's going to probably bypass 6 of the current 8 modern era TEs in productivity stats, even if he is on the start of the downward slide in productivity-- and he already has 2 rings. Gonzalez and Gates will walk into the HOF, without a single doubt. Miller has to at least be considered a very serious contender to be a 5th or 6th ballot guy, though.

he's like the 7th or 8th best TE in the NFL right now.
are there 7 NFL TEs playing right now that will be HOF?
I would hope so. "modern era" doesnt mean shite.
the Steelers offense compared to say a 60's offense that Ditka played in probably has 2 times as many pass attempts in a season, not to mention 2 more extra regular season games.
his numbers should be better than a lot of those guys.

The modern era means a heck of a lot, in terms of separating the statistics. It is a watershed that helps move players from one era to the next, so you aren't comparing true ends and split ends to tight ends.
You also rely very heavily on the one year fallacy-- even hall of fame players regularly aren't at the top of the league in productivity stats every season, particularly low usage positions.
Miller is going to be the equivalent of John Henry Johnson, a HOF FB, and one of the last two FBs to get into the HOF. He's not going to be a ridiculous number guy, ala the New TE modeled after Gates, but his numbers are *extremely* solid by Hall standards for his position, and he's going to have at least two championships-- and those matter as well.
The NFL HOF is not a Madden tournament.

I would say the Phillies were pretty fricking loaded last year. Although they didn't win the world series so I guess they don't count.

Is it just because of free agency that we don't see teams like the 98 wings any more?
The 2001-02 Wings were probably more loaded. Atleast 10 future HOFers

you didnt answer my question. Are there 7 or 8 other HOF TE's currently playing?
are offenses in the last 25 years different from offenses of the 60's and most of the 70's?
18 of the top 20 single season WR years have happened in the last 25 years.
you can't tell me it isnt different. Modern era doesnt mean shite, especially when talking pass catchers.
Heath Miller is not a HOF. Not by any measure.

'07-'08 Celtics team was pretty good. Big 3 hadn't gotten to old yet. Rondo was still developing his offensive game, but was still a good game managing PG. Perkins is no Dwight Howard, but he was a good defensive Center and was able to put up points when asked to.

Getting back from an outing, and I'll cover it really slowly so you can understand.
There are not 7 or 8 HOF TEs playing.
There are 2 no-doubters, as position redefining pioneers; there are a couple of young guys who are helping with the next step into the evolution of the position--- and they're having great seasons.
If you can't understand why a traditional TE with great numbers in a mostly traditional role, with multiple championships is a serious contender for getting into the Hall is going to happen with Miller, but why a Jimmy Graham and a Gronkowski are going to be considered differently, that's entirely on you.
The context of the modern era means absolutely everything, in terms of the framing of a player and a position. It's the reason why we say guys like Faneca and Hutch are going to be no-doubt Hall of Famers, even though they are not the prototype guards for the future of the game. A Ryan Clady type tackle may be super valued now and as the game evolves in the years to come, but it doesn't make an Orlando Pace's playing career worse, in a historical context.
I get that you hate the Steelers. I personally, just sort of think of them as another filler AFC team that wins a disproportionate amount of games.
